let's go with the third option:

https://www.strava.com/athletes/3425615#interval?interval=201711&interval_type=month&chart_type=miles&year_offset=0

He either travels a CRAPLOAD or is able to do some weird Zwift type virtual courses a lot.

either way he has ridden about 60 hours/1700km  a month for the past year, so munga no big deal

His longest ride was 405 km according to strava

The gap between the front two and rest appears to be getting significant.

might be hard to catch that up with the current pace they are riding

I reckon Dion is giving a Marco a good run for his money here. From Marco's previous race strategey his goal is to get the opponents out of sight as that plays heavy role in the psychological battle.

looks like DB is out   :(

chatted to him earlier.

medics picked him up, he can't hold down any food and has zero energy.

Really bummed for him, I did a few training rides with him and he was super strong even with his tank (loaded bike)

Yup heard the same thing, sad for him. He said his legs were still good but without nutrition he had no energy.

Marco Martins on the move again...

How long can your body cope with this extreme, lack of sleep + assuming your avg HR is about 70% for hours on end?

Last question is it good for your overall health...not immediate but long term effects on what this guy is doing?

It's one of the things I love about these long hauls... the big names (faster guys) seldom come out on top. Fitness, power etc are important to a point, but then the head and heart takes over.

The jump from 361's to the Munga is like going from winning a 42km Trailseeker to klapping Attakwas

PS: Mr Biermans is a bloody machine, hope my point doesn't detract from that... Munga is just another level up from these long 1 day events in my uneducated guestimates  ;)
