Mmmm I don't know..could you really have the same support as the munga has..I am not talking about a back up vehicle alone..those riding backup also need food and a place to sleep etc..they have ambos following mechanics, physios waiting..

I am sure it is very do able PVT I was referring to the same support..I think when you start adding up etc the price tag is perhaps not as high as why a lot of people think.

well if you want an ambulance following you then that is another story.

I don't think anyone short of a red bull video team does that sort of thing

We, too, are waiting ever so patiently to read the gory details.

I'm kind of glad that Tim Brink and Ride chose you for this competition instead of a top10 dude. Because you are obviously going to be putting in an EPIC article in RIDE soon, I'm going to queue up to purchase that one for sure.

I think you would dig Ride to Rhodes, that's if you don't want to do the Race to Rhodes

plus at the finish you can just sommer keep pedalling to bloem

way earlier in this thread Vettie mentioned 200km weekend rides shorter week day rides, and loads of gym work.

also posted plenty pics of his early morning rides and 200km rides.

Vettie can ride !! 200km at an avg of 20km/hr is pretty amazing and he did that through Munga.

The dude is a machine and huge respect for this !

I think you could trip this depending on ownership, servitudes etc.  Don't want to upset the locals by winging it.  Best left for the organised Munga riders.

Imagine if everybody suddenly pitches up and rides their own "Munga".

This should be sacred ground like the FC.

The Locals are special people. They are facing massive challenges every day with the drought. I actually get a lump in my throat thinking if it. These people open their homes, offer their beds. feed us, smile and offer encourgement. This all whilst facing incredible challeges every day. One can only respect them.

Further to that, you ride in places where no motor vehicle can drive. Bicycle, motorcycle or feet can operate .

As Alex said to us before the event. Be nice to tbe locals!

SB thank you. But I swear. I am a below average Joe who just put his mind to something and did it.

Everybody on this thread can do it. I am proof of it.

I'm getting way misunderstood here. My point was not for okes to go and ride the actual munga route. But that bike touring will give you a lot of the same experiences and can be done at very low cost.
