Hoping Telkom sorts it's *** out and keeps my connection for the event today. Judging by the murmurings  I'm guessing that Sky (and a lot of the teams are just) going to go for a TTT approach. If I were sky I'd let everyone go smash it out, attack, go gas and then just do their thing. It's 65kms. No breakaway is going to be stronger than Sky in Team Time Trial mode in full flight.

 

The Froome vs Thomas thing is a non starter. Everyone else has been busy trying to create a story that Sky haven't given them any reason to write. I could be wrong but when they say the road will decide then it will and has. Froome may want 5 but he's a pro, he knows who has helped him and if there is any major shift it will come down to what narrative Sky want to spin. 5th win or new champ' under dog and the defending champ helping his trusted team mate who has sacrificed so much for Froome and so much that no one has ever heard about.

I also see it like that.  What if CF hits the first climb well and then descends like crazy and then only maintain the gap (if there is one) to the end.  One wonders.

I think the adrenaline was so high that at the time of getting back onto the bike he wasn't in too much pain.

This grid start is such a waste of time... everyone is just going to group up and fall back into their teams... GC riders don't know any other way and I doubt they are going to race from their grid positions.

 

Its going to be like:

 

Start gun: "Bang!"

 

* everyone clipping in getting their balance, riders getting in each others way... shouting..."HOLD YOUR LINE!" more clipping in... everyone braking for the oke that is still trying to clip in....
