Patchelicious Posted January 19, 2018 Share On a road bikeYes, for his sprints. He has short stocky legs and is struggling to get the power down vs this new waves of sprinters. Apparently team DD have been experimenting with techniques similar, yet opposite to that of Caleb Ewan’s “over the nose” sprint position. By dropping the seat and hanging off the back during sprints you can get low and aero, but engage more of the riders glutes and quads, the biggest strongest muscles. They have kept this pretty much under wraps during the off season, to try and prevent the other teams from copying them, but Doug spilled the beans the other day during a corporate ride. coppi, Spoke101, Iwan Kemp and 3 others
Paulst12 Posted January 19, 2018 Share Looks like a small device of sorts attached to his bottom back of the saddle...
shaper Posted January 19, 2018 Share It's the Di2 junction box that normally hangs beneath the stem, they have moved it all to under the saddle to less clutter the front end.... marginal gains for aero!! Spoke101

splat Posted January 19, 2018 Share What is that wire going up his seat post? Whats up with his seatpost in general? All super aero, and then is chopped off into a wonky finish to the saddle
