Time for some controversy...

I believe humans are omnivores and cases like Unis are not uncommon.

If you do go vegetarian be careful to make sure your macros are right.

If you go vegan make really really really really sure you're getting everything your body needs.

Any diet that restricts choice (and the resulting reduction in the variety of chemicals that enter the body) can have some interesting and sometimes nasty effects on the body.

So far 7 months "veg" working towards veganism...which is a little more effort but plausible.

Same here, about 18months "Veg", but don't think I'll be able to kick the dairy......

You can visit Durianrider on You tube. He pretty much has all the answers on his channel. Of course, there will be a lot of criticism. People will only believe what the majority tells them and what "Science" have proven.

I don't think you will ever look back once you have committed to Carb the F up and Go Vegan!

I will not believe anything that guy says, he is also on steriods etc.

He was exposed recently as a scammer.

Cool those jets, hotshots.

Wayne asked who's on a plant-based diet. Not who's vegan. Two separate concepts. Vegan's practice a plant-based diet, but you can be on a plant-based diet and spend you're free time hunting or kicking puppies in the face (i.e. not vegan).

What questions do you have, Wayne?

No, as in being full of **** and forcing your new found wisdom onto others.

Not at all. She made a personal choice and allows everyone else to make their own. She also doesn't judge people she knows nothing about.

She has no problem in buying me steak and braaing it with me, or having a vegetable meal whilst I have a T-bone at the Local Grill or Grillhouse.

Just because she made a choice does not imply evangelism.

I wish more people took note of this little nugget.

Some background. We have been Vegetarian for about 6 months and the more I learn the more I am interested in becoming Vegan.

1. Did anyone experience any pronounced weight loss from the switch?

2. Anyone have any suggestions for interesting sites that provided PROPER information.

Will ask a few more as my mind wanders.

Can't say that I experienced any pronounced weight loss. I've actually only really started dropping some kg's the past few months, but that is more out of a conscious effort to get #ripped. You don't have to worry about waking up one morning with a Froome-level physique.

My best resource is https://nutritionfacts.org/ It's a site that provides an analysis of available scientific literature on plant-based foods and their effects.

Hey many can attest to it - I cook a mean steak - happy to, I chose not to eat it, I don't care if you do, in the same light don't give me **** about my choices, and I won't give you **** about your. Simple en klaar.

(Not your question, but to my own..) weight loss:

My wife and I went vegetarian about 3 months ago, it was also around the same time I ramped up running & cycling training (after comrades broke me 4 months prior..) So a lot of things changed at the same time.

I lost 10 kgs in a month. I won't lie I had a bit of a panic. I was always heavy for my build after being a gym-bunny for many many years. I've since stabalized and feel like a million bucks.
