Duane_Bosch Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 The French National DH champs will be very exciting this year!I'll be there. There's also a manhockey game the night before practice gets underway. Should be a fun weekend. Maybe the euphoria from the Soccer WC will still be in effect and the frogs won't be as GRUMPY C&%#S that weekend. Slight hijack. My Mate Karl bumped into Sam Hill at the baggage carousel in Geneva.

Bos Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 I think both he and Loris are going to be inconsistent for a while yet. They have the speed but still crash regularly. Vergier luckily didn't in this race run and got them over with in practice. 100% Loris was on the edge! Personal opinion was that the track was so steep it was hard to be on the limit because the speed generated just tipped you over in a heartbeat. Armchair expertise.. Inconsistent.. Maybe, but theres only 1 guy who has actually been consistent this year. I know what you mean though. The sport is in a good place though.
Hairy Posted July 16, 2018 Author Posted July 16, 2018 did anyone else also pick up that all the frenchies interviewed by wyn afterwards looked to be a little tanked
Duane_Bosch Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 The sport is in a good place though. Indeed. I think the ladies (Tahnee in particular) have figured out how to beat a healthy Rachel Atherton. The field might be a bit thin but Quality over quantity for me. And the absence of a healthy Greg & Aaron & a Gee Atherton who's off the boil means there's at least 2 spots going begging on the podium or the top 10. Add to that the depth and strength of the EWS. Wow. Really Wow.
Stretch Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 discovered Elliot Jacksons website from wyn's track walk. very interesting http://worldcup.eliotjackson.com/results/2018/Vallnord I especially like the post race visualisation of the race runs

That oke of tough as nails... My whole attitude to him as changed dramatically... And he does supremo course previewswas a great race, so damn exciting! Agreed wrt Gee: the dude is clearly not the fragile kind. Makes me doubt the extent of Gwin's thumb issue. Frankly, I think he is focused completely on that one thing he cannot win talking about school's in: Tahnee got spanked. hard. Teacher Rachel was handing out negative marking. Absolutely ominous form for worlds. Did not smark Tahnee's excuse about being tired because she sessioned a particularly bothersome bit of track too much during the pre-race practice session. She's a pro now. she should know what, when and why. That or she's desperate for that overall title.
Eddy Gordo Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Did anyone see how fast Minaar was on the first 3 segments?Damn, did anyone catch him launching and clearing that section at the bottom near end of the tree line

Mad. He reckons after his stall in the Tarzan section he had extra pressure to go faster and make sure he still cleared that
