So from the commentary I understand that it is better to ride while it's raining (water vs mud) than when the rain stops (mud vs mud)

Continuous rain washes mud off roots and rocks, and keeps the soil from clumping. Less clog in them tyres: better grip, less mass on the wheel and frame.

Very first, light rains are the worst. Turns just about any track into a skidpan.

" ...it was the spirit of enduro..."

" ... was nice to beat the DH boys at their own game..."

yo, the DH vs enduro thing is a thing... ^_^

Tell me about it!.. Although the course was perfect for him...I also think that section where he destroyed everyone was because he did it in the rain

Rob Walnut stooped to a new low today.... "fell like an old women"

I had a good chuckle at: 'Switch off your TV if you are allergic to nuts, here comes Danny Hart'

I'm probably in the minority here but I don't find him funny. Oafish and uniformed yes, even offensive at times, and unable to come to terms with the Metric system.

If he stuck to the downhill commentary it wouldn't be so bad, now we have to listen to him blag his way through the XC events again tomorrow. Pity my French or German is non-existent. Guess I could just mute.

Let me put it this way Kosmo I only missed being able to hear Claudio commentate. Warner is a heck of lot like having to listen to the majority of the SABC cricket commentators.

He's a bit of an institution. When you've been listening to him for close on 15 years you realise he reuses a lot of his sayings. To be honest I'm impartial...I don't really care. I actually think they are both getting a bit dull now to be honest.

Robs high 5 with Rachel cos she listened to Biggy was super cringey though.. Like this dad trying to fit in with his daughter's friends

Just caught up with the racing!

Maes! WTF?! Shouldn’t be surprised though. He’s shown that he’s seriously rapid on the big rig. He even dropped his 40 down to 190 to more closely mimic his enduro rig. He’s got the potential to be a consistent podium threat if he races DH more often.

I think we should all take a moment to appreciate that this is currently the healthiest the sport has been in a long while. New venues, new sponsors, a host of serious talent and nail biting racing at every round. My only wish is for a more competent ladies field. #blessed

Oh. Point for discussion: is Shaw the ultimate DH chocker?

So much to agree with here.

Maes. Boss. Period.

I'm curious whether there is more money in Enduro than in DH, and what the future holds for riders in both.

I reckon there must be something there keeping riders like Rude and Hill content.

But I liked seeing Maes and Eddie mix it up in both, maybe I just prefer athletes more well rounded. And the DH vs Enduro thing is pretty childish.

It was awesome seeing the crowds lined up in the terrible conditions.

Hopefully the enthusiasm will bring even more exposure and more sponsorships. Hopefully some more fresh venues as well, ie Croatia.

And I really hope the Syndicate invests in some sessions with a sports psychologist for Shaw. It worked for Ratboy.

I can only imagine bike manufacturers sell more #Enduro bikes vs DH bikes, so the market to be tapped into is huge in comparison .... so the #Enduro boys and girls should be seeing some of that in their paycheck at the end of the month I am sure.

The German channel on RBTV is not too bad  - at least they have a lady commentating for the ladies.

I can pick up more info from German than the Romance languages, which is not a coincidence given English is in the same family as Deutsch
