To give you an idea I run 10 sp sti and 9 sp mtb rd as 2x10 on 50/34 and 11/36. As is...no problem. I want to drop to 11/40 and if the Rd gives me grief I'll use a Rapide Rd extender (<R200) to work around. Run the bike for bike-packing, touring and gravel grinding. I just accept that I spin a little more or grind a little more due to jumps in gearing.

Okay, awesome. Now the hunt for a 9 spd MTB RD begins and 10spd STI's. Haha. Does the Crankarm need a big consideration with this or does that not matter too much? Still wanna go 1x.

Well done on the Brother Kepler frame.

I also had my eyes on it, but my bank balance said no to that idea.

I have also run 10sp shifter with 9sp rear derailleur and can confirm it works.

Enjoy the build.

Thanks man.. Looking forward to getting the pieces of the puzzle :)

And yeah, I almost didn't do it, but I'd seen the frame for about a year or something so I decided the calling was too big to ignore any longer

the manual says that? i've never gotten mine to flex that much.

Yes on their website too, have a look. Maybe you bought a dud. The flex really makes for a comfortable ride, you dont really notice the wobble.

Probably for the price of a high end complete gravel build

Still it’s campy

They stated somewhere what the expect RRP would be when compared to other drive trains from SRAM and Shimano, and not being a roadie/gravel bike drive train expert, sounded more like a XT price point drive train if I had to take it to MTB groupo ranking.

Hopefully Campy can make in roads to the mid tier market and then also come back to the MTB game with well priced products ..... yes I know Campy and well priced have traditionally never been used in the same sentence, paragraph, chapter or book.

I converted my Singular Swift steel frame into a gravel bike. I find myself grabbing it before anything else now... fast enough on the road and capable enough off of it...

I miss my swift so much. Would have been the perfect base for a gravel bike. Even with the Ragley Carnegie bars.

Mucking around with a few things like I normally do ... Trying a 42 single speed chainring. 9sp Sora STI's with 9sp SLX MTB RD and put the Rapide flared bar back on.

Hoping the chain will stay on485d37e977019b22011063255a952e88.jpg23ce8e4f3e9a6223b6f70c5c7f04fd58.jpg

No chain drops on a pretty bumpy ride this morning with some of everything, sorted!

Am still not a fan of the look of gravel specific bars but I will admit they're comfortable and easier over the more technical sections such as they were, keeping in mind I don't use it as an MTB.

Lastly legend has it that this chainring has been used to win the Crater Cruise on a single speed bike some years ago by the one and only Jules [emoji41]55a138496e3a1d7f4e30e32b5c8bb5b7.jpgcb8a18f69af71ed0e4a25e9b92cdfa25.jpg

Hello fine folks.. I need your expertise please.

So, I am looking at buys some SRAM 11 speed shifters with a medium cage SRAM derailleur, however, the wrench that I am throwing into the works is that I want to do a 10/11 to 40/42 cassette in the back and 1x in the front.

I know with this derailleur that it can go max 11-36, but I am hoping I can go the mullet drive route with it and ad a road/goat link to the RD. Will that solve the problem and how big would the 1x in the front need to be?

Thanks
