VW and their 7mm allen key brake bolts...

Normal Allen key sets do not have a 7mm...

Mk2 Golf used them on the exhaust manifold if I recall. We used a ground down 8mm for a while. Ended up paying R98 (in 1995) for a 7mm Snap On long reach which did make life a lot easier...

Okay, I have a real bike one...

Specialized road tubes... The damn valve stem sucks balls. The portion of the stem just below the valve core is smooth, for about 5mm..then it's threaded for the little nut... So no benefit to man nor beast, but it's got a lovely habit of allowing your pump head to fly off above 6 bar... And that's with a spez pump too!

Irritating to say the least...

The two concept stores I frequent stock kenda over oem spez tubes, where did you get yours? Must've been pricey.

Reminds me of that C-clamp thing VW used on the mk1(maybe others as well?) that connected the manifold to the exhaust. Clever idea as bolts in that area always corrode and then break when trying to remove but damn that clamp thing was a mission to get off. I made a wedge to put in there and then hit it in to open the clamp.

Poor quality touch screens on SAA aircraft where you really, really have to press to get something to happen. Then you have a kid behind you on a flight out of Sydney prodding you in the back of the head for 15 hours.

On the bike front, saddle post tops where you can't get the little plate over the top of the saddle rails without taking it all a part. Then you get the plate on top, but then there two funny roller jobbies that don't line up .... I always thought there must be a better form of saddle clamp.

Which aircraft? Assuming it was the A340-600? I will have a look as we supposedly paid a lot of money for those things. Probably the usual scenario where we paid too much to some dodgy tender and got a cheap useless product. I will be honest, I have never heard of anyone complain about the IFE before though.

Yes, I think it is the A340, have had problems with the touch screen a few times on SAA.

BUT bad design, the earphone sockets!

Cool thanks, I'll go find out.

The earphone sockets are unfortunately not our doing. The chair manufacturer is to blame there. Think our seats are recaro.

The touch screens didn't come with the aircraft when we first got them, they were retro fitted later on. Our new A330s came with newer updated IFE(In Flight Entertainment) but I don't think we fly them to Oz.

Looks like you used your grandads dentures......

Why change the SA plug to a format that NOBODY in the world uses...

Fixed it for you....

But you can use the ordinary 2 prong plug in the new socket - they just added an earth prong - which I guess is a good thing safety wise.

Follow the money is what I say.... :)

What annoys me most is my new PID kettle....

Set the temp to the tea setting and it's auto off does not work... EVER - clearly a design flaw allows this because boiling in Jhb is about 95.5...  turns off fine if you set it to 95... but my maid does not understand that you should not use the tea setting.....
