Does the UCI rules only explicitly apply to shirts?

 

Otherwise one can exploit "non-essential" items in various other non essential ways, don't you think? Like:

- dimples/fins/vents on shoes, gloves, pants

- dimpled/streamlined "arm warmers" 

- dimpled/seamed texture socks

- dimpled pedals perhaps

- magnetic cleats (weighty, I know) or something crazy

- teflon coated/dimpled parts/handlebar

It sounds like a grey area - the rules is "non essential" aero aids arw illegal so gels are definitively illegal. Sky's aerosuits are kinda illegal. Pedals, helmets, shoesetc are also kinda illegal I reckon...

 

Somebody shaved "stripes" into their leg hair and claimed it was more aero. I forget the name....

No doubt bobbles help aero dispersion but concave holes are even better like a golf ball... So expect nuts out suits soon. Perhaps using a bike pump and a glass tube you could generate dimples on the skin? The Pneumatic Non-Invasory Stippler would be a power balance bracelet for the ages. I would buy a P-NiS © pump.
