+ 1 for dates, +2 for de-pipped dates stuffed with an almond instead and then dipped in chocolate. Mmm. Pick them up at the duty free in Dubai.

Your count is tooo low !!

Too low for what, calling out some hateful posts? That's strange because I managed to do it just fine, low count and all. Logic thus suggests that I might even be able to do it with a zero count.

Dude, there is no “hate”. Honestly, it’s just advice I give from experience. If you aren’t happy with something I have said, please dispute it.

Fully agree with this [emoji115][emoji115][emoji115]

As for the rest of the advice, hmmm. Biltong? Great to chew on while watching sport, not so great for fueling your ride. Bring the carbs, let’s ride!

I think we can agree ( without turning this into a new LCHF thread ) we need carbs to race. To train at Z1/2 we don’t need it.

BUT a mistake many of us make, is eating too much on the bike. 4 hours on the bike at 20kph doesn’t mean we can eat 4 pizzas!

If you have a good, proper breakfast before your ride you shouldn't get too hungry or dizzy no matter how far you ride.

Before a long ride of around 150km I usually have a cup of coffee, a sandwich, a banana and a full glass of whey protein mixed with milk.

The rest of the ride I will just snack on the usual banana, jelly babies, dates etc.

A good electrolyte drink is also important, stay away from energade and powerade.

I've recent;y started eating those pre-packed chicken coronation salads you get from Checkers as my pre-ride meal (especially if we're doing 100+). And bonus if the meal is close to its expiry date, you get 50% off! So that's R17, I think that's a bargain.

**** it. Are you okes going for a ride or a meal on wheels?

You don't have to take the whole pantry with you when you're cruising at 17kph for 50min on some gravel roads.
