but hub socks

They will be a real thing well before next year's race. And the length will probably not be to Slowbee's liking  ;)

Ja nee Tanie, that Gr 11 is a biggie, kinda sets up applications to other places. So you MAY have a valid medical certificate to miss the event.

Yip.. basically a medical certificate for the next 3 years..[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

totally over rated just like the argus - but we do it every year. swellendam route the easiest dc - and ive done them all including the longest at 228 kms

It's a toss up between the Swellendam route, and the Montegu route.

I only started doing this silly event on the Ceres route - the 2nd version with the climb up to the cherry farm at the start. I hear that the first version was a killer!

The stories about the early days when it done with no teams and no support, from the prison out over Franschhoek pass, and off to Villiersdorp and back sound crazy!

Inspired by Meezo, thought post some more pics of what makes DC such a gees.

I can remember this DC well, I spent 90% of it at staring at Donny's rear mech thinking, flip, am  I in the right gear, then damn he pulled over, its my turn in the wind again.

Had a laugh as half was up op Tradouw he decided the shoe warmers were a little toasty so took them off while climbing, this still impresses Calvin who struggles to put his shoes on while sitting.

Then there is the suffering, those last sisters, when you have been in cramp since Montagu and you have counted to 7 about 325 times, then it becomes 6. What a vibe.

My wife is doing her 1st one, so the excitement is doubling up in our house!

Honestly, until the kids can ride I am scared my wife gets into cycling.

She would probably get more likes on instgram than me, probably end up beating me and I would have to do a lot more morning baby sitting.
