And actions like this remind me exactly why we should all be sick of these governing bodies.

Exactly.. They are talking big and threatening all sorts of thing but this that they are threatening maybe shows exactly why a club owned league is a better way forward?

And let's not think for one moment UEFA (or FIFA) care about football or football fans they are getting their panties in a twist because they stand to lose a lot of money... that is all.

Somewhere cycling teams are seeing amounts thrown around thinking.. Okes.. We need to catch a wake up [emoji6]

Edit

All this drama could easily had been avoided if they just listened and tried to come together and reform European club football... Under the UEFA banner..

Not only cycling F1 been thinking of this for years, it just never happens ,,,think mostly a threat by the teams.

And every other sport is probably going to be looking at a model like this very carefully.

It's probably modelled similar to the NBA (or so I seem to gather.. I know diddly squat about that model).. US sport is one hell of a money machine..other sport could learn from it maybe.

Fans are changing the younger generation is different.. You got to change with the times hey else you die.[emoji2368]

What will happen going forward I don't know.. But it sure is keeping us entertained

I believe Perez will have a press conference today.. I'd like for them to lay it all on the table.. what UEFA actually make of TV rights, image rights etc etc and what the exact cut (%) teams get from all of the revenue UEFA generate off their images.

It's also important to note that they aren't trying to destroy the CL or Europa league but trying still participate in it along side the ESL.

This is basically nations league for clubs.. UEFA are moaning because they didn't come up with the idea first[emoji6]

FIFA - UEFA same WhatsApp group.. It's time to shake things up IMO.

What the best way of it is I donno but a change was requested and because they (UEFA) have the power they didn't want a reform.. Now the clubs have called their bluff..

Now we sit back and wait.. Worth noting that they are planning to incl women's teams at a point too.

I'm all for a MASSIVE clearout from the top.

FIFA have got way too much power and are stuck in the old days.

Took them forever to use goal line technology and offsides when it was available - now they want to take credit for it.

The three five obvious things that need to happen

a)set up a short form game (ie. T20/sevens etc)

b)make the goals bigger. they have remained the same dimensions since 1862. Goalkeepers are way bigger now. The only thing to lose with more points in the game is goalscoring records.

c)i'm all for free markets, but there is too much inequality in the game with regards to player salaries

d)Sepp needs to spend some time behind bars

e)They need to stop the Qatar 2022 joke and tell us where it's actually happening.

I don't watch enough to form a solid opinion, but once again Bamford disappoints me.

They said the same when hockey brought in rolling subs.. It changed the game for the better...of course the biggest change was ditching offside.. Man.. the game became so fast and lot more entertaining to watch... Then again hockey often changes things up to promote and improve the game.

Why are football fans so scared of change.?
