You would have to provide some quotes thx.. with Sagan it always the same.. we will see, it will be hard and anything can happen, there are many favourites... don't think he has ever told anyone that they should be sh!tting themselves because he the is favourite.

It doesn't matter what we think regardless.. just thought Yates seemed a bit arrogant ..and also a written article doesn't always reflect the tone in which things are said.. not like you can see his facial expressions.. but the media sure like getting the clicks.

3 weeks is very long and there is a lot of road to cover.

Na, not going to do your homework for you but he has made comments of similar nature and acted nonchalant when winning. Which again is great - we need personalities, but some people reacted like you have to Yates cause they like Sagan.

All the same but different.

The poms aren't great at backing themselves and being bit bolshy. Aussies are and it sits well on them. When the english cricket team were best in the world and smashing the Aussies their confidence came off as being a bit arrogant. Truth is he came second on the 1st stage so only one other person was faster... it seems a pretty founded statement.

I've got no issues with it. If Yates is a rider who is confident enough to back himself then fair play. The yates bros have previously been so monosyllabic it was way more frustrating. If he fails then he has do deal with it and not the nay sayers wagging fingers. He is the rider in the giro who won the last GT so should be the favourite. Sagan is cocky but everyone says 'he's such a character'.  Nibali has said some pretty hilarious things in is career as well to the point of utter arrogance and has quite often lacked respect. Saying that the others should be pooping themselves is hilarious especially with Tommy D in the race. Seriously though, if he feels that all roads have come to this, his form and prep' are perfect and he has no doubt in his mind about his abilities in this race then why the hell not say it. Throw out some mind games but maybe don't get all potty mouth around the kids.

If you like a rider its character

If you don't like a rider its arrogance

Same as my ex - at 1st she was awesome then we broke up and she is now a nightmare.

 Too true. reminds me of the classic driving quote "everyone driving faster than you is a reckless hoon and everyone going slower than you is a dangerous doddery fool"

Dstv has a lot of picture breakup.

And just now it's switched from English commentary to Italian.

I imagine the sprint will be exciting in Italian!

Viviani - great sprint

Apparently not... Gaviria gets the stage after Viv' being DQ'd for barrelling across the road and causing one of the Lotto / Trek guys to swerve.

Must say it looked a pretty wild deviation from the front and top views. Imagine if that had been Cav'.... pitch forks would be being broken out and tiki torches would be being lit.

Honest question: Viviani went sharp left and cut off another rider that had to take evasive action (he had to slow down). What is the rules or rather etiquette surrounding your racing line?

Edit: only saw T-Bob’s response after posting...

It is a justified relegation..

Yeah, unintentional blocking / obstruction from Viviani

He will be crying himself to the sleep

This is the Giro after all ????????

Geez, the courage of these sprinters ????????

My wife and mother in law watched that final km with me and all they could focus on is how scared they would be riding in that bunch. It was one of the more physical finishes for sprinters.

Who the ... decided it would be clever to have that chicane in the final km of a staged clearly earmarked for the sprinters?

Yesterday's run-in was also pretty sketchy.
