A bit cheeky I guess :whistling: .

But yeah, I do, 4 commutes a day each one 2.5kms   (work - home(lunch) - work - home). And hey, I've featured in the last few years challenges, just been slacking the last year.

That's flipping lucky. Thanks for coming and confirming. Not cheeky at all.

I bank on finishing work at 1pm on a saturday, gives me enough time to ride home and then do what I need to.

This saturday I needed to be in Alberton early afternoon for my moms birthday, but I had a customer keep me until 2:30 at work.

I basically time trialed it home, showered changed and headed out the door.

The result, I was broken for the rest of the day, even my training ride on sunday was a sufferfest

Fortunately i dont commute on Mondays, i dont have a waterproof pack or a suitable jacket.

Which leaves me wondering what the rest of you use for those unexpected showers on the way to or from work

Jacket or not, you still get wet. I don't mind getting wet on the way home but it sucks getting drenched on the way to work. Trying to dry clothes and shoes is a mission, especially if the weather stays cloudy/rainy. I just make sure the NB stuff in my bag is dry, I do wear a light rain coat but often it helps bugger all. I use ziplock bags for phone, wallet etc.

I chickened out too this morning. I usually don't start a commute into the office in the rain.

For in case it starts raining on the way, or for afternoons:

Cellphone always in a ziplock; PC at home set up to dial in so I don't have to carry laptop around. In Gauteng it's very seldom cold when it rains, so I only wear a (highly visible) wind jacket, which is always in my bag.

Best way to dry clothes is to hang it in front of an air conditioning vent. The air from that is pretty dry. Best trick for soaked shoes is to stuff them full of newspaper and it will wick the moisture out enough to make them nearly dry in a few hours.

Today is the first time this year that I used the car to work because I have to go buy my minister of home affairs a new vacuum cleaner after work. Stupid thing stopped working 10 days ago and it is now becoming a bit of a crisis covered in Labrador fur! (Good excuse hah? ;)  :D )

On Mondays i take clothing to work for the week so no real choice there,

Although when i left home this morning it was dry, by the time we got to newtown the roads soaked, so i would have been drenched by the time i got to work

You have AC in your office ... bloody elitist!

I feel you pain .... one can sweep and vacuum after a labbie, go put the broom and vac away and when you return it looks like fur ball city again!

Had been one of those commutes!

Left work late, then had a bunch of thorns where they cut grass next to the road.

One hole just didnt want to seal. Think my sealant needs a top up.

Had to stop every couple of km to pump the tyre.

Also had a constant headwind.

Lovely, I am now knackered!

Curious to see what everyone is commuting on, lets see your bikes!

This is my commuter, my old Momsen 429 hard tail 29er. Evolved from a 3X10 to a 2X10 and now in its most recent evolution a 1X10 (I removed the front derailleur). Tubeless setup on Maxxis ikons. Sportsmans Warehouse BBB flat pedals so I can walk to the office with dignity in my 510s.
