Pieter1 Posted January 28, 2019 Share Howzit guys/girls When I stand and peddle or lean the bike in a corner the rear wheel rubs on the opposite chain stay. Should I not stand and pedle or lean the bike in corners. Or can I weld the frame somehow to make it stronger? It is an On one Inbred ss for what its worth. Thanks. Karman de Lange Posted January 28, 2019 Share You sure its frame and not the wheel? , My alu momsen I get wheel rub , but its the wheel flexing. Hairy
RocknRolla Posted January 28, 2019 Share What type of wheels?Type of Tyre and width? I had this when I ran 2.3 WTB wolverine, on the rear with Gian PXC Wheels. The Tyre may be "rolling" on the rim, causing the rubbing of the frame. Headshot
Brakepad Posted January 28, 2019 Share maybe it could be the spoke tension ?
Jewbacca Posted January 28, 2019 Share What are you trying to sell while riding your bike? It would more likely be spoke/Wheel flex than frame flex. Steel is known for it's 'flex' but it is not that pronounced. DieselnDust and Wannabe
Pieter1 Posted January 28, 2019 Share Hahaha! Mielies and ice cream. I have Spank Subrosa rims on there also with a 2.2 Maxxis Ardent Race tire on there. Had the same issue with a wtb tire on there.
Hairy Posted January 28, 2019 Share what does the tyre clearance look like when stationary? given what I recall the Inbred frame clearance looked like, a 2.2" should have ample clearance. give those spokes a squeeze and see if they are on the loose side. How many spokes on the rear wheel?

Hairy Posted January 28, 2019 Share best old pics I have on file showing the rear of the frame with a std 2.25" ardent....never had any issues. Edit: please ignore the gears, this was a moment of weakness on my part! Edited January 28, 2019 by Hairy gummibear, Pieter1 and DJR

Edit: please ignore the gears, this was a moment of weakness on my part!Talking about gears, I will be removing mine after the argus. I will then be riding a single speed, rigid monstercross. The reason: I do not want to buy new campaq shifters (apparently mine is not repairable) and I am open to new challenges. Hairy
droo Posted January 28, 2019 Share In order of likelihood: 1. Pap spokes2. *** skewer3. Wheel bearings shot4. You used to play prop at club level, and you're riding a 29er. supertorro, Pieter1, Hairy and 5 others
Allrounder Posted January 28, 2019 Share Back to topic. My father in law had the same problem with a used bike that he bought. Problem was the dish of the wheel. Took the wheel in for a "rebuild". Problem solved. gummibear and DJR
Skott5 Posted January 28, 2019 Share I doubt it's the frame - I'm Running 2.4's in the back of my Dee-Dar and even wheelíng it around corners it doesn't rub on the chain-stay - in fact there is hardly any flex at all.

I’ll have these things looked at because I know it is a poefie skewer, the hubs have not been serviced in like forever and the spokes, maybe buit the build is still quite fresh. Thanks guys! bikebloke Posted January 28, 2019 Share hairy ... if that yellow beast is flexing at the back i think its cause someone cut the top of your seat stays off with a hacksaw and welded your brake bridge to the seatpost with a bit of metal Edited January 28, 2019 by bikebloke
