How many people are going of the grid with vodacom and mtn batteries?

So you also saw that carte blanche episode. My toppie owns a property that he rents, it has 2 factories on, it's industrial but MTN put a cell tower inside his boundary wall. They pay him rent monthly. We now worried that the security will be compromised due to this tower. Last thing he needs is for his tenants to have a break in as a secondary crime after these thugs steal the batteries. The circumference of this property is like 3km, higher/better walls will cost a fortune.

Twice had a situation where the beams at our work premises were damaged by vandals. Both just before the weekend. They knew it would prevent the normal arming of the alarm system, so last employee to leave struggled and then left the alarm system off.......yes, it was stupid, and yes, they did break in that night, and yes, the insurance did not cover it. The next time we were a bit sharper. Immediately informed the insurance and we were covered, then also got ADT involved who set up a sting and waited for them. Caught 2 in the early hours!

so if beams are being stolen, what other modes of perimeter defence are being deployed?

Anyone use rolla-spikes, and if yes, what's the experience between with them?

I owned a rolla spike business a few years back and they a waste of money. The only time they are truly effective is when they are installed with 2 rows next to each other but that gets expensive.

Eina-ivy is a good option but pricey.

i don't see it getting better in the near future. I was just watching news the other night about the elderly couple, (the lady that worked for the DA) , that was murdered and i thought to myself does the Government official i.e. Cyril and his chronnies ever watch the news or read any news papers?? Are they to busy to steal and loot than to worry what is going on in our Land. I mean where on earth do you get  the following advice to rather stay of the roads at night before you become a statistic........REALLY ???

tell me more about the pros and cons of the rolla spikes. i'm very interested in it, as in comparison to a blade wire, it's a work of art.

I've seen teh double rolla's in vertical orientation. why is the horizontal double row arrangement better?

don't. they are counting on you doing just that.

Not really giving up, am now putting up electric fencing this week. I am deducting it of all future urges I get to pay parking attendants, beggars, sponsor list, etc, etc..

Stole my postbox cover and house number about a year ago(assume it was just sold for scrap metal). I never bothered replacing them. The security company board thing has my house number on and I have since had my house painted so you can't even tell that either were ever there to start with so it doesn't look tatty anymore. In the last year or so there have been a few gate motors stolen at all times of the day.

Me too... shaking head !

In our area they just take the power cable that supplies the suburb, from the same place, every time, sometimes twice a month.

That leaves an entire suburb without power for what is normally between 8 and 10 hours at a time, alarm batteries run dead, gates have to be opened manually, houses in pitch darkness, most residence not at home as they need to eat out.

Some suburbs in Boksburg in the dark of night they flatten the concrete street pole and steal the lights and housing then over the next few weeks they break the concrete and remove the metal wires.
