Okes, a lot of anger on a Friday.

Lets just wait and see what comes of the mediation.

They sell a lot of fiets according to the Epic stats, I am sure they going to sort it out, probably just a lot of moving parts in the system.

OP

Your story sounds horrid, but I would like to hear Cycles Direct's views on this.

They have always been a "good" LBS from what I have seen and based on my interaction with them.

Want die "nuwe" LBS klink maar dodgy as hulle se jy moet die BB epoxy

I want to see them get that BB out after they epoxy it in.Guess it's one way to stop the creaks

We as fellow hubbers need to make sure we boycott Cycles Direct - this is the strength of the community - this is a solid case that should have been fixed long time ago.

Because of a "he said" / "she said" thread?

Jeepers I'll just go make threads of anyone who doesn't give in to my demands and expect the community to stand by me!

Any warranty claim I have ever had I needed to pay for the labour or installation of the part. Wether or not this was incorrectly installed or whatever it does sound like there was solutions presented and OP just showed them the finger... which is what he said he did (and sounded quite proud of it)

Numerous guys here advised him to take the new frame, I mean you are actually better off!!! But due to said finger being given the situation has now escalated into something that is probably a little storm in a tea cup.

There are 3 sides to each story and we've only heard 1 of them

I think we need not worry, with 4 x active posts from S&V ... no real disrespect S&V!

I have also had frames fail and replaced from various manufacturers. The cost has always been to my account for the rebuild ..... personally I think this sucks, just as much as what it does as not having a transferable frame warranty....but that is another story.

You should design bikes for a living.

While I am on a roll...

Why re-invent the crank... well you can see where I am going with this! :whistling:

Specialised in warranty fiasco yet again....

well at least they're consistent

This is not a warranty issue and actually has nothing to do with Specialized, although it seems like they are trying to help.

Its easy to be "good" when things are running smoothly. You tend to see a person's (or business') true colour when there is an issue to sort out. For me, how a shop resolves an issue is more important than being nice to me when everything is ok.

How is failing bb's on the Specialized frames, not a Specialized issue?

This sure a $##* is not the first time this has happened.

Not a warranty issue because they shift blame to the installer.  Maklik.

They could just as easily claim wear and tear then... "The rotating bb cups caused wear and tear on you frame sir, sorry."

Oh you mean the ones that are NOT supposed to be loose, yea, sorry my fault, probably should have glued them or something.

Sho, that just doesn't feel right!

From those articles the cups are epoxyed in and then the epoxy remains forever and you just replace the cups! So if Epoxy was not used it will damage frame as there would have been play.

Maybe go check your purple bike in the garage for any play in the cups :P
