maybe we can assist you in peddling some of them...

That would be cheating. I measure my puns purely on my own ability...as soon as someone starts with those E-puns, I really lose all sense of humor.

Judging by your second response its obvious that you have a very very large chip on your precious shoulder.

If you bothered to actually comprehend what i was saying in my first post its very frustrating to wait for a ebike rider on a downhll single track after he zipps  past you on an uphill.  If you cannot figure out why then you dont ride MTB.  Downhill singletrack is what makes MTB fun its not fun sitting hard on the brakes all the way down.  Imagine everyone waiting 30 seconds in a race to give the guy upfront a head start what a bottleneck that would create, so your question is actually stupid and doesnt deserve an answer.

As for your bakkie chirp , dude maybe get help as i think i know what you trying to say but rather have the balls to say it .

If you are after the 'fun' aspect of mountain biking, whether uphill or downhill, then give the races a miss

that was until the golfers started taking it over and all of a sudden there were people screaming at other people on the single track. Once the "boytjies" arrived on the scene it made MTBing less fun.

Hahahahaha!    What about a "boytjie" on a e-bike ?

Judging by your response you obviously drive a bakkie.

I used MTB a lot have ridden and raced many MTB single and multi stage races, that was until the golfers started taking it over and all of a sudden there were people screaming at other people on the single track. Once the "boytjies" arrived on the scene it made MTBing less fun.

But answer my question instead of having a go at me. If the placement doesn't matter to you (as you said it doesn't). Whats so bad about giving the rider in front of you a head start so that you can go down the ST as fast as you like?

not picking a side but I nearly soiled myself laughing at this

Joh, people take their racing seriously around here. Even if you're racing top 10, I hate to break it to you, it is top 10 in an amateur race somewhere in SA, not the world champs in Mont-Sainte-Anne.

Chill die guava en geniet die ry!

Just because some of us lack talent or don’t train enough doesn’t mean we aren’t racing the funrides. Different levels, different goals, but still racing. I came 201st at last years K2C and I’m not going to podium but if my goal is position 199 this year am I not racing ? I’d be bummed if an ebike knocked me back. If we weren’t racing for for position 655 to 4, 1 to 3 would be insignificant. ebikes aren’t going anywhere, we need to find a way to encourage and accommodate without cheating me and my small penis out of a position however insignificant the real racers think that may be.

Anyway everyone knows any position behind first is just another loser

Just like Fat bikes and Single speed's aren't going anywhere( yes you might have one in your garage and yes they are fun)....next gimmick please.

Make that at least 15 minutes after the last group left. Why should e-bikers get the benefit of riding in the cooler hours of the day. Make them sweat at least.

No because they will catch the normal groups - and then thats were the fights will start, E-biker behind me shouting track track is gonna get get a klap in fact a snot klap.

15 min earlier start for them is not gonna have any impact on temp. If the official race start is 7 am then they must start at 6:45....sorted

what about the front end of the race catching them on the more technical stuff ?

I can see why there are so many dangerous drivers on the roads. Take the aggression on here as a cross section of society and ....

The human factor....

So here is my dilemma... Most (and I generalise here) people riding ebikes are less fit, beginner type riders. If its a fairly technical race, do you believe they will be able to handle their 30kg bikes over those obstacles better than the front race snakes to the degree that 15 minutes will be enough? I think if you want to ride an ebike, join the back of the race and learn some patience? You are afterall using assistance to compete with everyone else????

Roadie ebikers at a 'race' can start behind me. Can I jump on their tail when they come past me for a tow? Hold on, that's not fair on the groups ahead of me.

Start them before the Elites? But in all likelihood there will be a fair few who can't exceed 25 kph, so the Elites will catch them. Not fair on the elites.

Start them in the group that their previous results are matched with? They might have the 'legs', but what about group skills? Curses, also a potential problem?!

I've got it! Only let them enter flat races!

every one saying what does it matter if you're 650 or 655th...

but what happens with seeding ?

Lets say there are enough e-bikes getting seeded ahead of you that it pushes you into a group further back, every group you move back affects your ability to better your previous time. More people to pass infront of you, less chances of bunches forming, normally hotter and adverse wind conditions the later in the day you get.

Not an issue if as mentioned there is a separate ebike start batch, seeding also works on time not on position.
