Rugby World Cup 2019

Eddie Jones shows why he is the world's best RWC coach.

Really?

2003 his home team made it to the final.

2007 he was a last minute advisor to the winning boks (after being fired from both the Aussie and then reds roles due to results)

2011 coaching Japan club

2015 his team didn't make the knockouts.

2019... Let's see.

Compare that to Steve Hansen, 2 wins, one as assistant one as head coach and a semi. ..

That's the kicking game in a nutshell. Easiest way to keep the ball in the opponent's half is kicking it there. Then capitalise on mistakes.

As a stormers fan under toetie and rassie I've seen uglier ways to win.

The tactical approaches of both the 3rd play-off and, especially, final will be intriguing.

Eddie is far from the best WC coach...

However he has made a massive difference in to that England side albeit he has had some time.

Not a big fan of him.

#Rassie4President????????????

“I don’t think finals are won with expansive rugby... I might be wrong... we will go the ‘grind-it-out’ route...’

That was both boring and tense in equal measure!

I'm going to have to pick a side for next week now . . . .

My side was always picked so now we await Saturday in a divided house of red and white and green and gold ????

Same here. The Boks have 3 supporters in our house (well actually it's just 1, but she's loud enough for 3) so I'll support England to level the playing field a bit :-)

Rassie turning this team around to a world cup final is nothing short of a miracle. I think we all need to raise our hat to the man.

South Africa have never lost a final and the last one they won was against England. We still have to have our good game.. Let's leave it to the final. I'm excited for next week.

Don't get me wrong.. England look really good.. But I'm sure Rassie will have them analysed to the nth degree

and the last time we played England in a final was 12 years ago in France and we beat them 15-6.

I must admit I don't identify with or enjoy that type of rugby at all... but we're in the final and if we win I will give absolutely zero f#*ks as to how it came to be! Head says England, heart says it's a final and all bets are off...

Come on you Bokke!

My sentiments exactly.

All the praise for NZ attacking style and the "boring" Boks in the QF mean nothing, as the Boks are in the final and the All Blacks are not.

Anything can happen in the Final and the Boks seem to be in the right mindset to grind out a result when the game is extremely tight.

I dont mind the kicking game plan when we are in the middle 1/3 of the field but  :cursing:  when they aimlessly kick the ball away just outside the opposition 22!

Unforced errors also very high and something we need to work on this week.

Super happy we made the finals though!!!

We might be the underdogs but Eng will definitely not be thinking they have this WC in the bag.

Their attack is mostly around the fringes and from first receiver and that is where we are very good.

Go Bokke!

The tactical kicking game is fine as it's easier to gain territory.

But we kicked way too many times while on the attack, as if we were trying to play with some flair. If we just ran the ball through a few phases when in their 22 we'd have scored a try or two. We got over the advantage line when we kept ball in hand, but instead we ran 2 phases and kicked away possession with these little grubber kicks.

New era and new playing style but I still stick to my preference of our chances against England rather NZ in the final had it been on the cards.

NZ vs SA Played 99 (NZ won 59 vs SA won 36 draw 4)

SA vs England Played 42 (SA won 25 vs England won 15 draw 2)
