I think so maybe in the amateur category. I would've thought this year, with all the different routes each, mountain passes included etc it would attract much more interest, especially after last year which was pretty boring with every stage bar 1 starting and finishing at the same venue, and all the roads raced were all part of PPA events. I think with the new routes etc it will attract more Pro/Elite teams to ride, also 1st prize in the amateur team category is quite lucrative aswell, all expenses paid trip to Italy, visit Pinarello HQ etc...

I created the route on Strava, to see how much I'm going to suffer (answer: a lot).

For anyone else who might be interested:

https://www.strava.com/routes/23731630

Can't guarantee the exact start and finish positions, but the distance is spot on with what is advertised, so should be close enough

Picked up race envelope - 2 numbers, 8 safety pins, a cardboard bike number with 3 zip ties which I hope to get away without using because zip ties will scratch my seatpost and I have a saddle bag with choobs and bombs. That's what comes of taking the bargain basement entry.

Legs a bit stiff from the MTB Challenge - the boss, who is an @sshole (I'm self employed and a 1 man band) is shaking his head at the pure indulgence of his only employee and 5 days of driving and riding here I come.

Fit the number between the top tube and head tube. That's where its supposed to go anyway :)

and have a great week battling the elements. Tuesday is probably the hardest day. Don't go full gas if you want to make it through the week

Enjoy the week mamil - great memories will be made this week (and that little number on your seatpost will make you feel like a real pro (at least at the start of each stage)). You can always "forget" to take it off for next Sunday and check out the envious stares  :whistling:

Try using the seatclamp bolt or a rear bike light clamp.

Or use the cable ties after first putting a bit of insulation tale around the seat post. Weight weenies will protest.

Wow these numbers though.

So Jaco weighs 70kg(according to Wiki), avrge power for the duration of the course says 469w.. That's equates to an average of about 6,7w/kg for a full 57mins... That is impressive!!
