    • No, because most of the 150km of the trails are generally speaking, smooth as tar.

shhhh we must keep this gem for ourselves, it's becoming hard to find a spot to sit outside on weekends :D

Not sure it's a broad social issue - perhaps just the trails aren't bumpy enough for you.

What is daft is giving someone the sense they CAN ride a black trail surely? Then they go to a doff trail centre and die...

I dunno man. It's doing a disservice to the community to give people false hope like that. Our society is turning so mediocre already with a few aspects...Let's keep the spirit of MTB

Check the poll...it is very clearly not just me who thinks there could be more  variety.

Thermo - stop whinging about it - see Jewbacca's excellent suggestion earlier in the thread about drawing up a detailed proposal and plan.

Every sports club I've ever belonged to - running, cricket, cycling, squash for a short while has relied on a small number of people devoting a lot of time to keeping things running. Whenever there's a wish from the members for something different to what is being done to happen, this membership must step up and make plans. If you want hot dogs and home made lemonade at the drinks break after 30 overs - someone's girlfriend has to get involved and make them. If you want better surfaces in the nets - someone ha to pitch in on a Saturday to help pull the roller across the turf and so on. If you want better / more / different trails, design them, enter a constructive process ...

At the moment though all I can hear is "Mommy won't listen to me about what I want and it's not fair"

Mamil

Let's take this approach.

The club is always building new trail ... all that is being asked is that within their future planning framework they include more tech, slow/tech trails.

Not going to change anything RE the clubs general day to day's function or methodology.

So in short, no need to involve some other guy's girl friend :P

I've got no problem with club resources being used to build more technical trails. I probably won't ever ride them cos I'm 50 years old and find the trails as they are just perfect for my skill level. Nor do  know the history of these issues being raised at the club AGM but at all the sports clubs I've belonged to, new things happen when members actually contribute in the direction that they want things to happen. That means coming up with a plan, having design ideas, speaking about something tangible that you have done or are doing that will steer the direction of the club.

Otherwise you're just a whiner saying "They won't listen to what I want and it's not fair"

Why single out Thermopage?

He is not the only one on here advocating more out of the club.

Yes what about the other 46 people ?

Hey .... my best friend turns 60 this year, and she can bomb down tech single track faster than guys a third of her age ... she flipping rocks ... so at 50 you are still a spring chicken!
