I was informed that my indoor trainer will be arriving early next week, so yes, probably just in time for the announcement of relaxed exercise hours.  But Cape Town winter is coming, so I still plan on getting the most out of it.

Well, Chris Junior informed me yesterday that they would be shipping Kickrs from tomorrow and as I had placed my order in March mine would be in the first batched dispatched.

 

I am planning on holding them to that promise...

Still no update on the website but I assume all orders should be dispatched in the next couple of days.

I was informed that some stock was sold from other warehouses, so while they consolidate stock and transport, there are delays.

 

Not sure about the Trainers as that seems to be a landed/shipping issue delay.

 

But I was assured that my brakes were on their way to the Cape and would be dispatched early next week.

 

I think the inability to move things and having to run at one third staff has caused bigger delays and bigger logistic issues than anticipated.

 

I'm not making excuses for them, but from experience I can understand that processing thousands of orders while having to box, load, move, unload, unbox and sort with short staff could start having exponential time delays

Just spoke to our couriers for the stuff we send ... 

 

JIP, the couriers are now OPEN for business .... which sounds good ... until you realise :

 

- they were running short staff for many weeks, and need to gear up to work at full capacity

- all the lock-down specials needs to be shipped, not just a few biking stuff ... BIG volumes to be moved.

- flights are still minimal, and lots of stuff which was overnight may now be faster on a truck ....

 

 

It must be "fun" at each and every shop trying to get their shipments out and to their clients first ....

 

 

Equally so for the importers, HOPE they can now get their stuff from customs to the retailers  .... my purchase from PRE lock down is still stuck in transit to the distributor (not a CWC purchase) .... I was given fair notice pre-lockdown of their stock levels, and am patiently waiting.  I feel truly sorry for the dealers waiting for their goods.

My week is not going well, with the backlog etc from dsv my bike is sort off coming down to cape town on its own pace... well hopefully tomorrow i will have it... At least i have wine so i have that going for me..
