I couldn’t find a link to download the CTCT short route

Click on all routes

Enter the route name in the "Route Name" field = Cape Argus 2015 short version

click "Search"

It will be listed near the top of the screen

Click on it

Next screen, click on download

or just click on start ride to ride it

Ive never bothered to download any routes, they always seem to work fine for me

My internet connection can be dodgy at times so I try to download what I know I'm riding tomorrow before the time just in case

I just close the app and never log out... 1 less step to worry about when you have 2 minutes before a race starts  :whistling:

A couple of us are meeting on this VR route at 7 am tomorrow morning, it’s not a race but all welcome to jump on and join for the ride . About 1h 20 if your chilling

Cool, I need a bit of a break, its been balls blazing on the idt the last 2 weeks. Will ride for an hour before work calls.

I will scout routs for next race to be on Saturday morning.

I tried Rouvy last week, I did two races. I found the "virtual vs. actual" resistance unrealistic. Initially I used my normal FTP from my 4DP metric (Sufferfest) and partook in a race. I would go up a 10% incline at a cadence of 90 - 100 and still be sitting at 10 - 11 km/h. Even if I pedaled harder, my cadence would go up but my speed & resistance would remain unaffected.

The resistance was almost zero on the trainer.

I then increased my FTP with over 50% for the 2nd race and still it was nowhere near what I know a 10% incline in real life actually is.

Your FTP setting wont have an influence on the trainer resistance.

Are you riding a smart trainer?

Is it every possible for it to feel like 'real life'?

Nope

I have ridden various hilly routes in my area and then downloaded the same routes and ridden them virtually on Rouvy, the climbs are definitely easier in the virtual version, albeit it only slightly.

The downhills are harder though, not a lot of recovery freewheeling before you stop completely :whistling:

Is drafting enabled in Rouvy? I don't seem to get any benefit when close to other riders..

No none of that roadie hide in the bunch and win the sprint BS

Its kind of like a TT, the race of truth (ignoring the e-doping)
