Pikey Posted May 8, 2020 Share you could always offer the buyer his cash back, he might need it more than the bike now!Don't think he needs the money . I couldn’t back out now, just not me . VicanZA and Hairy

DieselnDust Posted May 8, 2020 Share I'm thinking the have's will still make a plan to get that shiny new piece of kit. (but in reduced numbers)Those people may also opt to hold on to what they have for a while longer, rather look at the cost of "upgrading" component wise. Perhaps a solid component market may be of better value to the importers. If they stock "old technology" components for maintenance, it may just keep them ticking over from a volume point of view, instead of trying to sell grouppos for 25k a shot (I have no idea what a top of the range groupset cost) I see shimano still offers their 2 x 10 option in the new deore offering, despite coolheats that seemed to have thought that 2x was a dying breed... That 2x and 3x options a re more for the OEM market (so new bikes ) than the aftermarket.Shimano is considering dropping the 2x XTR option as its only market seems to be gravel bikes and die hards (those are dwindling) Aluminium bikes are going to make a comeback.as its the only way OEMs can kee a wel specced new bike price below R50,000-00. From that price point up to over R100,000-00 the market is pretty dead.Beyond R125K the market still seems to be OK. I'm shouting from the sidelines here. My drivetrain costs are minimal. I'm certainly not on the "spendy" side of cycling. My recent wheel upgrade, cost me more or less what my frame cost in 2012. Both below the R3500 mark.
Vetplant Posted May 8, 2020 Share I foresee a used IDT firesale as soon as the distance restrictions are relaxed...Personally, I wouldn't let my IDT go too soon if we do reach a lower level some day in the next couple of months, you never know with which foot Bheki climbs out of the bed tomorrow. RocknRolla Posted May 8, 2020 Share having had a trainer for a couple of years now, the benefits of mid-week training for some-one who works is great. Lockdown or not, I see a smart trainer as essential kit for fitness on a time limited schedule. Bike handling skills because of this is a whole different discussuion. Grease_Monkey Posted May 8, 2020 Share I foresee a used IDT firesale as soon as the distance restrictions are relaxed... I haven't used mine once since level 4 started. But then again, I didn't buy mine just before lockdown, and I didn't spend a 5 figure amount on it. - I'll hang on to it, it has proven itself useful on the odd occasion.
