Regarding battery indicator, you can install a custom data page via Garmin ConnectIQ app (separate app). I installed the MyEdge which looks cool and shows battery life along with sunset/sunrise time at the top:

I have been using the wahoo elemnt bolt for 2 years now.

Extremely easy to set up using only the phone app. A nice feature is that you can change/modify the unit display while you are riding, as it updates immediately. The LED feature is nice and the zoom function allows you to focus on specific measurements as needed.

Battery life is good, after 2 years I still get around 20-24 hours of life/recording from a single charge.

The navigation is also useful, although not fully turn by turn, the breadcrumb navigation is quite accurate. I have used the normal navigation on many occasions in new territories, just select a destination on your phone app and the unit will navigate you there.

Awesome product with no issues at all. Wahoo aftersale service is top notch in SA if required.

I can definitely recommend the unit.

I am in the market for a new computer. I am currently using a Polar watch and would like to upgrade to something mounted on the bars for ease of reference.

I am in a quandary though. There is so much to choose from, however, I have whittled it down to 3 possibilities:

1. Wahoo Bolt

2. Garmin Edge 530, or

3. Garmin Edge130.

Can anyone give positive or negative views on these units.

Is it all getting so technical with all the data available that maybe the Edge 130 is the best route to follow???? I don't know.

Anyone? Please!

PS: This has been posted in Computers and Tech but there is not even one opinion after 35 views. Lost in the backroom.

Fantastic battery life, small and simple to use

If you already use the polar software for recording your exercise then it makes sense to stick with a polar product

Thank you to all for the recommendations, comments etc. I appreciate the effort.

I went for the Garmin Edge 530 and for the following reasons:

- Fully integrated with my medical aid.

- Components are in house and not third party.

- Newer system / model.

- In stock at time of purchase.

So far, I did not find it a mission to set up. It was easy enough once I mastered which button did what.

So now we will try it out and see how it goes.

In our country the bike alarm feature might prove to be useful.
