plus or minus ? I see there's a 1 hour neutral zones so I'm assuming plus ? Also looking for a team not too sure what time to expect now with the neutral zones... I only know the strava times from my mates last year not actually sure if people talk racetec times or strava times (start to finish including neutral zones)

Racetec times will be about 45-1hr slower( feedzones are now time and less team members and less resting).

Normally people qoute racetec times.  My strava moving time was ~45 minutes longer than my racetec time and Strava total time was ~1hr:20 longer than racetec.

Our team time was 10 minute faster than my time... (my duty was get the lightweights to 2nd last stop).

oh ok so my target time is actually based on my mates strava times, now I'm less worried about the target times set in the mailing list I got added to yesterday

maybe 45min to 1hr maybe a bit pessimistic. I think theres a real chance the Ashton Feedzone stop time could be extended but in reality you actually have 20min there. Remember the neutral zone plus feedzone max allowable time is normally 60min and that is now reduced to 40min. But with 22min through

Yes, thats the plan, the car that is following us will go up ahead pull over and hand out bottles.

You have to be stationary to receive assistance from the support vehicle If I recall the webinar details correctly :)

was thinking mussettes would work but then there was that little detail

the Pass you're left with 18min to stop refresh and get moving.

It's only the Bonnievale stop that will add time and thats 30min.

Fatigue aspects could add 15min so I'm thinking 30-45min over previous racetec time. If you're #lockdown training restriction slowing the field then yeah maybe worst case is an extra 60min.

also need to add 2 less riders to sacrifice (or have a bad day, which always happen in our team)

At the top of those climbs my garmin normally pauses I am going so slow, so should be fine!

Or we will just send one of the over eager kids to go up the road, stop and pick up 6 bottles and bars.

over eager kid ;)

more the being sent down the road to fetch the water bottles. I have a valid excuse this year though

I shall not be pushing anyone up any hills

I shall only carry what I fit into pockets with my right hand :)

on the face of it though we look pretty decent this year. Capt has been ruthless. If you had doubts you got benched and replaced LOL

Ok so we wont have many fast teams overtaking slow teams as in the past on that section so that will help

But geez that section got messy when support cars were allowed there in previous events. Never saw so many close calls for potential crashes in a race in my life...

I can only imagine which over eager kid may be put up to the task...

Mmmm

There's a nice 202km route in Swellendam .... ;-)

Would love to see how a 'normal' one day race would be raced on this course!!!

Probably pretty similar, hard on the climbs then in the open cross winds of Bonnivale open up gaps on the rollers and over the sisters.

Would be a rad finish if a small bunch comes to the line up that final kick!!!
