Hi all,

Hope everyone is well and all the best for 2021.

I am looking at a MTB for the wife, it has taken some convincing but she finally agreed to give it a go.

Here is the conundrum, I want to get her a dual suspension to make the ride, especially on some gravel better, but I dont want to spend to much if she does not take a liking to biking.

What I have seen is that I will probably not get a dual suspension for under R24k or am I looking at the wrong shops?

Thanks,

I had a quick look but the thing that will drive her nuts is the scratches on a 2nd hand bike based on what I have seen, but will work through the adds in detail this evening and see if there is anything decent.

Why don't you check the used ones here in buy&sell ?

you dont say where you are based

in Gauteng the place to look for second hand bikes is www.bikemarket.co.za

they based in Sandton

specialize in good quality 2nd hand bikes

good service before selling and always a warranty

i wouldn't look any where else

as to a good lady dual suspension bike the spez rumour is awesome for ladies

Or you could buy this for 22..

11.5kg Carbon 29er Lefty MTB (Small) | Bike Hub

I have bought 3 mountainbikes for my wife so far,

cheap carbon hardtail (was a good start to test the waters)

f/s 120/650 pyga - excellent bike for handling, but people we rode with started pointing out it was heavy and not a 29er, and then it was doomed :@

scalpel - 29er and ticked the box of being light weight. I've had her on wider tyres for stability, but otherwise a fairly racey build.

I would recommend the second hand options despite your reservations on second hand bikes
