Furbz Posted March 17, 2021 Share Starting to look a bit more like a bike this morning i must say the carbon finishing on this frame is extremely well done. not even my 2020 Madone was this well finished off. Furbz Posted March 17, 2021 Share Screw the bike. I am liking the walk in wine cellar That said, the bike is just dope. that might be the reason this build is taking so long - puts seatpost in frame #time to celebrate with a glass of wine! shaper Posted March 17, 2021 Share Surprised you not been reprimanded for clamping a carbon bike by the top tube, and a new bike at that....... must be all distracted by the wine cellar Long Wheel Base and Furbz

Butterbean Posted March 17, 2021 Share It's not a canyon................But genuine question, if top tube and seat post are both carbon, where do you clamp it?Seattube still. Its a much stronger component than a top tube - the issue has always been that the top tube is generally oversized and weirdly shaped, so easy to crush in standard clamps. Add to the thinner walls due to the chase for light weight and comoliance, the top tube is far more sensitive to compression forces than a Seatpost, which are built to take a lot of weight and force for their smaller size. Worst case, slot in an alu Seatpost if you have a round clamp for it. Aero ones, the seattube will be the safer bet than the top tube. gummibear Posted March 17, 2021 Share Wow that looks sweet[emoji1319][emoji106] What would this built sell for in Rands? Furbz
Furbz Posted March 17, 2021 Share Surprised you not been reprimanded for clamping a carbon bike by the top tube, and a new bike at that....... must be all distracted by the wine cellar that is the one draw back to the Topeak prep stand.while the clamp section can swivel to hold a seat tube, it can only clamp it side to side and not front to back which makes the hole bike unstable when working on a bike with an aero seat tube... splat Posted March 17, 2021 Share Parlee along with all other bike brands world wide are suffering with a shortage of groupsets.I brought this bike in as a rolling chassis. So the only thing missing was a groupset and bottom bracket. Thankfully i was able to source an almost new Force Etap AXS groupset with around 1000km of use. This included a Force Quark power crank which is a nice extra to have! 1000km?That's brand new and Mint Condition, by BikeHub standards!I mean, you should be charged more than retail because its worn in a bit already Furbz
Furbz Posted March 17, 2021 Share Wow that looks sweet[emoji1319][emoji106] What would this built sell for in Rands? MRRP is USD7499 ex tax in the states.Roughly ZAR131k incl vat here at current exchange rates That said. Parlee is not a known brand in RSA and we will account for this by bringing the price down until the brand is established. We are aiming to be in line with Scott, Giant etcInternationally Parlee fits into the super premium market. Let's also keep in mind you will be getting ENVE wheels, bottle cages and Garmin mount included. which are not included on competitors bikes and adds a couple grand to the cost of the bike. Did this skip the Scale of Truth ? Thanks for posting pictures thats its weight, i zeroed the scale with the box on it to allow me to weigh parts that are difficult to otherwise weigh on my scale. 1000km?That's brand new and Mint Condition, by BikeHub standards!I mean, you should be charged more than retail because its worn in a bit already Beggars cannot be choosers i am afraid. I'm using an educated guess based on the ever accurate strava There is nothing available locally - it is the same internationally. i'm grateful i was able to find anything at all!
