That was rather an interesting finish to stage 1 of the tour of Algarve yesterday. I see they now cancelled the stage altogether rather than give Ganna then win. What a cluster F$#@.

I spent an hour watching the last 40km's on Live stream only for it to end in that chaos.

Why cancel the stage? Commentators suggested giving everyone the same time .

is it a case of applying the rules rigidly? I imagine all those okes off course meant the whole lot should have been disqualified so it’s easier to cancel the stage and keep everyone in the race…..(?)

I wonder what the rule book says, when you have most of the field off course and don’t get a recorded time? Yet you finished within 10 meters apart?
I feel the riders who made the correct judgment should be rewarded with keeping their times. It’s so mush easier to just cancel the stage. UCI has got off to a rocky start with Pro Level racing.

Then there is also the relegation battle, which feels very similar to the English Premier League at the end of each season. Arkea & Cofdis is in dangerous territory, squeaky bum time, throw the kitchen sink.

must say Israel have managed to jump out of the backline and are assured of their spot now.

Here today, Juan tomorrow.

Juan, Why are you so unpredictable?

(if you know, you know).

The rumours will start flying, but Ineos should jump on this one if they really want a GC winner here is a potential on a platter.

Rumour is he is off to Lidl-Trek.  Although fans don't seem to want him there as do many fans of other teams.  By all accounts he seems to have an attitude issue.  Doubt that would go down well at Ineos if true
