An oldie but still a goodie - updates include the 125mm Spesh dropper off my Enduro, 11-42 Deore cassette, new chain and a 30 tooth Rapide front ring for better hill climbing. This thing is off on a 3 day dirt road marathon piss up this weekend. Needless to say I will be on the only steel bike, the only hard tail and the only 26er. I'm not that keen on the first day of 80 odd km...

So cool to see how many people have and still ride hardtails, IMHO they are some of the most fun you can have on a bike. And to those who post their xc bikes, please go troll elsewhere.

Let's be fair on the XC bike crowd as the thread heading reads Trail/Enduro ... so they are creeping across the line to the Trail side of things.

I agree with a polite note to a XC bike poster that their bike is a little under gunned, but keep them looking and keep them interested in this thread.

Where would that line be ? 120mm travel ?

Where would my XTC with 120mm fit in ?

Leaning more XC as the XTC has a more XC orientated geometry?

EDIT: and it is a slightly blurred line.

There is a Enduro Hardtail Thread, so that should take care of the wants and needs of the absolute #EnduroBro's if they want to keep it "pure"

I have a Rapide Tigre with 100mm travel, XC or trail?

Geo leads you to be more trail with 100mm travel and lekker if you wake up and fit a lekker fork tchjina :P

Edit: Lekker fork = some lekker travel like a 140mm fork

That would be a future upgrade, as the 100mm travel fork is all I had. And bigger tyres is also on the list of upgrades.

Enjoy the build as you go and enjoy the bike ... you get bonus street cred for owning a steel framed bike too :P

Hey guys, I do not have anything against xc bikes and if that is all you have I do not at all mind, I think 120mm is the line but let's be lenient ????. I was more asking the people who are taking the piss and posting xc bikes, just to be irritating, to please stop.
