Doing the double this weekend is going to be interesting.

My small Spark only has only one waterbottle cage and can only take 500ml bottle.

Guess i need to dust off the old camelback. This is going to feel weird

Was planning the same but actually out of town this weekend and the double driving to Banhoek then Wellington would be a killer, opted for the Road race only (hoping to up my seeding).

Maybe get a ride in the week with that camelback full. Weird feelings on race day isn't ideal.

Me to athlete that consult me with me as we debrief racing dynamics and performance review after WP Champs:

"Please send me your race....... SNIP... top 3 performance lessons learnt?"

Response: 'I learnt that heatstroke sucks' 🥵

The whole race is about an hour shorter and 10C cooler. We should be fine...

haha...the irony of when 10C cooler means the difference between 45 and 35 LOL

😝 I think starting in normal 18C vs very humid 28C will be the big difference.

There's that.... But my mom can only have the spawn tonight/tomorrow morning, the wife is working all weekend AND it looks like there will be big heaving barrels at the Noordhoek Dunes tomorrow morning.

So I'm not fighting my mom or finding a babysitter from 6am on a Sunday to ride in hell

Hello👋
Does anybody in the know, know how many start groups there are and their start times?
I just got info of my race number, and would like to figure out how low out of the starting groups I have been allocated...🤷‍♀️

Group A Starts at 6am..

what group are you?

I'm down in F.
Trying to figure out what's the ratio of the 'hardcore shave legs' vs 'i cycle for fun' will be in my group based off how many groups there are.

I'd say a 3:40 ish CTCT put you in F?

Which is right there in the 'I ride for fun' category
