I've heard by a couple of people now that if I turn up at the expo then they'll sort an entry for me, how true is this? Otherwise I'm willing to buy someone's entry and ride under their race number etc. Anyone done it this way? Thanks for any advice.

Riding under someone else's number will get you and him banned from the race. Strict rules against that for very good reasons SoloCyclist and Long Wheel Base 2

But as far as I understand, subs will be done only at the Expo, so there is a chance you might still get a late entry, as they are not fully subscribed.

Not at CTCT, but I was at a race in the UK many years ago where a guy competing under someone elses name and number had an accident and nearly died receiving the wrong blood and care based on the emergency information provided. He was unconscious and they had no idea who to contact as the next of kin on the entry was like 'erm, my husband is away playing golf, I think he gave that entry to one of his mates but I have no idea who' Anyway, after seeing the ramifications and knock on effect it can cause first hand, I will not be party to unofficial entry swapping ever again LazyTrailRider, The Ouzo, daveno7 and 4 others 4 3
