Monte Casino Classico Litter Zone

So, not sure why we are bashing someone for pointing out that an organiser made it VERY clear that we could throw trash at that particular point and begged us not to do it before or after that, then proceeded to not clean it up?

We don't know if he was on his bike, or in a car. Regardless I don't think everyone drives or rides around with a couple of black bags to pick up random trash.

So thank you for pointing that out, sad to see the organisers not following through on the idea.

I think it is good of the OP to mention this . We were told on a few occasions whilst in the start chute where the litter zone was . I for one dumped my litter there . I was fully expecting the organisers to ensure that this would be cleaned up after the event . I don't think it is up to the OP to clean up , and kudo's to him / Her if they did .

You don't understand, there are people on here whose job it is to complain about anything that anybody else complains about, coming down from their high horses to unseat anybody else on a high horse, because that's what people do on the internet right?

To be fair trash should have stayed in the pocket. This was not a stage of the Tour where you needed to eat a full chicken and a side portion of rice.

Keep the Gu wrappers and what ever else you took with you at the start to the finish.

Problem solved.

Still, if the organiser designate the area for this, they must clean up, and no, it's not up to the OP to do it.

It feels more and more that the entry fees go up but the service goes down at the races (recently we even had a provincial champs without timing 😭)

Yes 100% agreed. They should have not advertised one to begin with.

I usually do keep my gel wrappers in my pocket , but they made such a song and dance about the litter zone that I felt obliged to toss my litter ....

Take it up with tannie Lenie, Lennick Event organiser.
She'll listen and maybe do something about it.

Moaning over here about it...........don't know what to do about it.

Are people using gels and stuff with wrappers riding a 88km ride?  🤨

And this is my point-take it up with the event organizers. I never said he had to clean it up himself, but just posting about it will do nothing

Yes, I did(I took all the wrappers with me to the finish)  Not everyone is a super hero or a pro cyclist.
