What part of sheep farming and wool production is environmentally friendly? Vegan fabric and wool alternatives are probably better. Happy Friday 😆

Pretty sure it may be a nice product.  But at R3k for a jacket .....

Thankfully other local producers that offer very good products at a 1/3rd of the cost.

I suppose if you convince yourself that you are a premium brand then you can try ask Assos money.

You are KIDding, right? I get your point, but your point is wrong. Merino is the poster child for wool alternatives.

but ja. vegan fabrics would be much better. just need to match performance/price and it's a nobrainer.

Can't wait for a vegan car to be launched. Actually no. Give me a gas guzzling fosil fuel burning super charged V8 any day. Viva.

Yea the subject is more involved than most would think. From deforestation, pesticide/dip to chemicals used in producing the final wool yarn.

might as well cycle naked because surely synthetic materials also have an overall environmental impact

Extruded from crude oil mostly....... Then spun and mercerized.

Not sure Synthetic fabrics are the answer to a 'green' alternative. Shawn sheep/goats wool, flax and cotton are probably 'better' but then as mentioned, you have people offended by farming practices, so really, we should all wear self harvested leaves from wildly grown vines

at Assos prices they can keep them...

These are not cheap items, but they are still WELL short of Assos and even Castelli equivalents.
(having said that, I think its hard to compare as I don't know what their merino stuff is like)
