Couldn't ride this morning thanks to #workdoodies, so instead of "lunching" I did a quick almost double spin of blue at Hero@Hobby... and threw some Futurelife in a "boetflask"

due to my time constraints, this sign made me laugh...

I didn't have time to slow down!!!  I was on a schedule ^_^...

BUT I did have time to go back to snap the pic :whistling:

I have a friend that lives 4km from me, I've always been weary of safety, from criminal element and traffic to ride to her place, but today decided -screw it - just do it. Instead of loading up the bike to her place - rode there and together we rode around edenvale.

We took a beer stop at the pub when it started raining then carried on afterwards. Great fun and it's such a pleasure being able to hop on the bike and just go without having to load up the bike etc. I just grabbed my keys and my phone and off i went. No more excuses - definitely have to do more of that this year.

That's what 95% of my road riding is like, I love it.

i still don't like riding on the road though. hats off to your roadie types. today it was quiet - and even then cars coming out of driveways without waiting, cars turning without indicating...it's madness.

I do get your point, heck, even without that things like potholes are still constantly jumping in the way. Just this morning I hit a slightly sunken piece of road around a manhole cover going down Republic Road at about 60km/h and nearly kakked myself.

On the other hand, personally, I have always been hurt much worse on my mountain bike when something has gone wrong.
