My Dec holidays got off to a Heavy Labour Intensive start.

Been planning to remove a few walls in the house to make it a little more zen.

After 4Days, walls were out, rubble removed, Ceiling patched.

Hit up Hoogies Skills park a few times before and after Xmas and squeezed in Tokai on a Day better suited to the beach.

My First and second week flew by in a blink of an eye.

Last weekend we ended up in Elands, but it was not good enough.

First week of Jan and there is once again the usual chatter of hitting up Garden Route Trail Park. Since the place opened I have been wanting to go, but everyone keeps talking about it and by Thurs no one ready to commit as in previous years.

Fri morning we find accommodation, and dash off after lunch. My family and I arrive at 8pm after a hassle free drive.

Our Accomodation was in Knysna Forest, No lights, plenty of stars, My pic attempt at capturing the stars, a huge fail

I forgot to mention in my rush to get the van packed and loaded, I fell off the ladder getting something on the roof rack. Thank Goodness no injuries.

Everything checked and ready to go.

I arrive at the Trail park and realise I dont have my hydration pack. I left it in Cape Town, sitting on the chair after my ladder incident. I dont like last minute plans.

I dont have much pics of the Reception area of the trail park, as I was trying to figure out a plan for some water. The shop was still closed. Chatted to a fellow rider and he pointed out an empty bottle and the filtered water supply.

As I was riding this introduction to the trail park, I wondered what happened to the loop of doom, "hmm didnt see it at the reception area, maybe it was taken down"

where to now, I forgot to take note of the map in my quest for a water solution. fortunately the weather was awesome.

One thing I enjoyed and which stood out the most was riding in the forest under canopy was so cool. Cool as in temp cool.

Pine forest offer up shade but tend to be humid, this forest canopy was a blessing.

Unfortunately not for a few people, check the collision mark on the tree.

I just started riding and I was already stoked. Plenty of single track on offer, plenty of berms and super nice flow.

Then I see it, for those who have not been there. The magnitude of this loop is not even on another level.

It is beyond ludicrous, it is evidence of what the overseas riders are riding. Even the dirt jumps after the loop are a massive scale. I reckon its probably about 20 times bigger than whats available at Hoogekraal skills park and the tables on DH3 at Tokai.

SO at the loop there are a few lines, Jungle fever, Crazy Creek and Forest Frenzy.

I am not sure which one to hit, I have heard of Jungle fever being a lekker line, but was also aware of another line called Mountain Mania.

After chatting to some fellow riders, I disovered I have to make my way to the top of the mountain for mountain mania. Aah well I am here now.

I am not sure how long I climbed but it was long, very steep in places and extremely tiring.

Here is some serious potential for a DH line
