Just thought I would update this post with battery life of my enduro 3.

charged fully on 30th August. ( 13 days ago). Very little sun for solar charging, I live in the Uk after all. I ran the pulse ox all the time for about 4 days and then just evenings for another day or 2. Then switched it off completely. I have completed about 15 hours of training in GPS mode in this period. I was also mucking about with settings etc a lot in this time bedding the unit down so to speak.

this Morning it was on 31 percent. With pulse ox off and having mucked about enough with settings I have charged it to 100 percent and will see how much longer the battery will last with normal usage of running and cycling. I anticipate 4 weeks.

Just an update on the enduro 3 battery life after using it for 2 months.

at first it was using 4 to 5 percent per day including on average 45 minutes GPS usage per day. Giving 3 to 4 weeks usage between charges.

Last week I loaded the latest firmware and the battery usage has slowed down to between 3 and 4 percent per day including 45 minutes gps usage per day. So a solid 4 weeks usage.

this is without using the pulse ox features except the odd health snapshot and very little solar charging  to speak of.

Unfortunate really, I was hoping for a few really nifty improvements so I could pick up a 2 year old 7X Pro for a steal in the classifieds.

My 5X will have to keep on keeping on for another while then I guess (not that there's anything wrong with it, just upgrade-itis).

Just bought a Fenix 5 Sapphire for next to nothing, loving the upgrade-itis effect! Seeing a few 6/7 models also going for good pricing, but the 5 pricing secondhand is too good to pass up.

A small update as I have had the Enduro 3 for nearly a year now.  Battery life is still superb. This past week I charged it last week Friday. I have done 12 hours gps usage and 2 indoor sessions of about an hour each. It is also my alarm clock so it wakes me up. I do the odd check too. Now on 60 percent.

The ECG function was launched here with no fanfare. Stumbled onto it reading release notes. The app itself is loaded with caveats to stop you suing them when you die of a heart attack. I have used it on a few occasions. It says I don’t have detectable AFiB. Once or twice after some heavy sessions and I’m chilling on the couch my heart starts racing for a minute or 2. That is AFiB and the enduro confirmed it.

I don’t really know how Garmin are going to better the current range of Fenix / Enduro. Just what more functionality could be added, BP? Maybe better battery life.

Rumor has it, better screen that will also give better battery life.
Functionality not much

Well....that is the rumor

Glad to read this. I wanted to buy either the fenix or the enduro but decided to wait until my fenix 3 dies. It has started… Pixels are dying and the battery is also just started underperforming. Weird that both happened at the same time but I can still read the screen so I’ll patiently wait for it to die.

Both excellent choices, depending on your needs.

I went Enduro, not a regret in the world. For my needs it’s perfect.

The Yuppie in me likes the looks of the fenix better but I don't dive and never will, I hate charging my watch so the enduro is very tempting. Still have some time to fight with myself.

If you don't like charging your watch, then there's nothing like the Enduro. Even when I was running 100+kms a week and using an external HRM, it would go weeks without needing a charge.

I did an 16 hour ultra, with GPS and an external HRM, no battery saver or anything like that, and the battery was over 60% when I finished.

It's way better than the Fenix 7 Solar that I had before.

just my experience with the Fenix 5. my first watch was the Fenix 6 which packed up after 3 years cant remember exactly but while it was away at Garmin for assessment I borrowed someone's Fenix 5 and boy did I miss a whole bunch of features not life changing just nice to haves. So the 6 is a step up from the 5. I have a 7 now and there were also slight improvements but nothing ground breaking again.

In terms of the WATCH .... they have certainly included everything we can wish for ... by today's list of functions.  Frankly, even mid level watches now provide much more info than most users can ever use fully.

The next level of progress lies with the personalised training .... all behind the Connect+ pay wall ...

My Fenix 6 is on its way to Garmin for repairs, long story short the menu button stopped working, I'll see what comes off it as the recent garmin repair process reviews seems iffy for the last while.

Anyway, I'm considering getting something new and was looking at the 7x Pro Solar, but I'm now seriously considering the Enduro 3, purely for the battery life, let's hope SARS comes to the party with tax season.....

exact same thing happened to my 6 & I got offered the 7x Pro Solar which I accepted without hesitation. Charge probably once a week for my high activity level, it's just to keep it toped up as I'm in the mountain a lot now & use the map feature a lot.. I could push it out to 2 weeks if needed to. I cant imagine anyone needing a longer battery life unless you are touring for multiple days with no access to electricity. I've done a single activity with the 7 that lasted 39 hours using the map for navigation, was pretty impressed that I didnt need to recharge once.
