what percentage of these lemons are fixed to standard before being sold ? How many are sold as is and the dealers hope the new buyer doesnt come back to them when something fails ?

I love the comment of people over value their bikes. These would be the same people advertising it for more than the original advertised price. 🤔

Special service... 😂 Use Bikehub Pay it's a million times less expensive than the used bike businesses. If you don't know anything about bikes take it to a proper mechanic to check out.

you are absolving the dealer from doing due diligence

when you want to sell your used motorised vehicle (car or bike) it gets put through an evaluation to pick up any of the more common issues, by low balling every ad with a spray and pray approach the dealers are cheeping out on doing their due diligence. Some bikes they'll pick up for a steal where they wash and lube and its out the door and big profits, others they'll pick up and will be lemons.

I know for a fact of a bike with damage being sold to dealer and they where informed about it.

That bike was sold as is, damage hidden by lowering shock pressure, bike just covered in bike polish. It was not on Bikehub but that dealer is on here.

Last thing I’m doing is absolving the dealer; quite the opposite actually.

If you want to buy and not return for failures that’s on you.

If you signed something that says the dealer is absolved from responsibility that’s on you.

If the dealer commits to the bike having been through DD and offers some sort of guarantee, that’s your security.

If they don’t stick to their end of the bargain that’s on them.

For everyone who won’t return for failures there are probably the same amount who will point more fingers at the dealer and try get things in a sneaky manner.

You can’t dictate to someone how much they must accept for their item or how long they must wait before they can sell it. If you are comfortable accepting a low ball then so be it.

Willing buyers and willing sellers.

People make dealers out to be like the (literal) horse traders of old, as if they’re snake oil salesmen. Surely if there were so many lemons we’d hear more about it? All I ever see about dealers is people being upset at their low balls. Either people being low balled on something they’re selling, or upset because the seller sold to a low baller.

Business is business 🤷‍♀️ and who you choose to do business with whether buying or selling is your prerogative.

Willing buyer, willing seller…

There is sometimes “really bad” bikes for purchase on Bikehub (and Marketplace) at very “ambitious” prices. It really looks like some sellers just throw together random parts (sometimes even a frame they had fixed) and push their luck. I doubt they would offer any guarantee on these bikes and it’s a pity unsuspecting buyers can’t be warned.

At least Bikehud doesn’t have “Is this available?”.

You must be new here?🤣

i got about 5 of these last week alone.

I wanted to buy tools and low and behold it was not available but I have something else you might want to consider. Some people just don't remove or update their adds. Timewasters
