I wonder at this every year and never more than yesterday. How the guys get flats that have to be plugged and don't self seal suggests they are running tyres spun by silkworms and the tyre sealant bottle just passes the wheel in the workshop. On gnarly singletrack I understand but in yesterday's gravel roads a puncture should be a rarity and it shows how some of the field take a gamble.

Those lawnmover drivers are shitty wx rated, so they're able to fly today. 

Im sure the coverage is more from the tv director who's overlapping the interviews with the coverage of the race to make it more 'exciting' for the viewers on youpoo
