cathcing Pog on a TT is a statement, not sure Remco has the climbing in him but if has a team to pull him might be intresting at the next TDF

Ai, are we placing all hopes on someone beating Pog again after one race in which he was beaten by the favourite who also happens to be 2 time champ?

Lol no but if we wan't to see a competative TDF we atleast need 3-4 guys going at Pog... Poj did take time off to train for the TT and to get caught from behind is still a big statement although in any Grand Tour Poj is still miles ahead

And the Pog does it again, no fight from the rest of the field.
A 1-2 combo was enough to pull away and finish with what looked like a tempo effort.
Back to back TDF rainbow double

All the hype about Remco’s bike issues take the attention away from the fact that Pogi rode Remco off his wheel while seated

And none of them could bring him back. This from a group that included Pidcock, Evenepoel, skuilmose, Healy and del Toro. it was clear in the TT that either Pogi was carrying race prep fatigue or wasn’t interested in winning it, instead saving his legs for the Road race. There’s just so much desperation within the Belgian camp for Remco to win something big. The Olympic Road Race is already long forgotten.

"30 riders out of a field of 165 crossed the finish line"

Rwanda's hills, humidity etc took their toll.

Or Remco is just a better TT specialist than Pog?

He is probably a better but definitely a more consistent TT performer than Pogacar. Since 2021 they've met head to head 11 times in UCI TT events with Evenepoel having a 9:2 strike rate. The winning margins were never as big as 3,8 seconds per kilometer as it was for the TT in Kigali last week. So that was an outlier which suggests it should never have been an indicator of relative form

How is it that countries like Rwanda and Eritrea were able to field teams of 6 riders and we only had one single rider?  Did they get special concessions as developing nations, or could we have also fielded a team of 6, but just didn't have the support from our Federation to make it happen?

Probably? Cmon mate.

Remco is going to go down as the greatest ever Timetriallist when he’s retired. He’s in a different league to Tadej. The only time Tadej gets close is during a 3 week Tour or a proper mountain time trial. There is no comparison.
