Check out the Marvel line up from Cycle Lab, they also just got some new colours in, I dont think its on their site yet.

They also have a program where you get 2 free services and can trade the bike in and get the next size up when its time to upgrade.

The bikes are also spec'd quite well. 1 x 7  Tourney if I'm not mistaken and hydraulic brakes, also nice 2.6" tyres. We're going to put our niece on one of their 20" bikes soon, she's had the 16".

I discovered this bike this morning at our local bikeshop. Another great option, AL frame, Shimano 7 speed trigger shifter and HYDRAULIC disk brakes. Seems like a great all rounder

Oooooh!  That cable routing...

Hi Everyone,

It is almost my boys birthday and I am looking for a 20" bike.

Any experience with the following bikes? Is there value in a fork on these bike other than "it looks cool"

AVALANCHE Flash 20" Disc Hydraulic Disk
TITAN RACING Calypso 20" Mechanical Disk
TITAN RACING Player Jr. 20" Mechanical Disk
ZINI Z20 Disc Boys Mechanical Disk
Scott Roxter 20". Mechanical Disk without fork

Thanks for considering Titan Racing 👊

New Titan Racing incoming.

Waiting for the tubeless tyres, grips and pedals.

Impressed the bike is lighter than the previous version and reach looks a bit less stretched, upgraded gears to shimano and the rims are wide!

Thanks @Titan Racing Bikesfor all your efforts.

Will update with the final bike, Tommeke and siblings on their Titan’s.

Thanks for your patience and support 👊

That looks sooooo good!

Thank you.

Tommeke`s birthday was in July, well worth the wait.

The red grips and orange pedals was his idea, the reverse of his brothers orange grips and red pedals.

We did fail the first test, when Dirk drop the bike at our house, "hier is dan nie `n kick stand nie".

Quickly sorted from his 16inch.

Excited about the tyres, the previous bikes we did a ghetto conversion, these are tubeless tyres, for our riding way to aggressive but sure after a few S`e the rolling resistance will be sorted.

Once again thanks to my LBS, Cycle City & Dirk, for the effort and great service.

Has anyone looked at best ways to reduce weight on a 20" bike?

Kids being as small as they are I think it makes more of a difference to the handling and overall experience than it does on our bikes. Also, I like tinkering with bikes 😁

  • Quality AL parts, so no heavy steel for quick gains
  • Cassette is BOX 4 P8 11-42. Being black anodized I'm guessing this is most obvious weight saving. Also the 42 seems excessive with only a 30T upfront, so going smaller will be lighter.
  • Rims are tubeless compatible, but I faff enough with my own tubeless setups, and while decent quality and light, I don't think the Crown Vee Gem 2.25 can be run tubeless. Most likely different inner tubes could be a worthy upgrade?

I have run Crown Gems tubeless for over a year now with no issues just topping up with Stans now and again.

There is a thread of a dad going to great lengths and cost to built a proper light race bike. My searching skills not op to standard unfortunately, it was shorter, lighter cranks, Crest rims...

The prior year Crown Vee Gem 2.25, the one with the natural side wall, we successfully converted two sets tubeless with not a days trouble, going down to very low air pressure.

This current year model the side wall felt thin and was not confident it will hold and therefor replaced. We need tubeless where we stay and ride.

So I got my hands on a VERY NEAT spez riprock 20" that ticked the boxes.

Alu frame, discs & Suspension fork.

Must say I am surprised how well the fork works, not just for cosmetic purposes.

Going from the 16" scott to the 20" I cannot believe how much confidence and skill he developed in just a few days. getting out of the seat and standing on the climbs i was mind blown!!!!

I will change the twist shifter for a rapid fire next week when they open shop, other than that looking forward to see my little one race next year.Riprock20.jpg.79e59abf8bab538b5478c3b6f469102a.jpg
