I do gravel and road riding, have done my Munga training in them and going to ride in them. I can honestly say they are the best pair I own. Assos is just on another level.

I have the Assos without the pockets. (Pockets could be very handy)

Excellent on rides over 6 hours

other option if you are specifically looking for ultra endurance pants then forget your run of the mill brands.

Import some PedalEd or albion bibs, they have 3 pocket versions which are great for long days out...

I currently ride my gravel bike in Ciovita Altura Bib Shorts which I love.

At 1.78m tall, +- 70kgs and a relatively 'slim' hindquarters, I'm after a bib with a very thick chamois that's been tried and tested for long rides.

Feedback welcome!

I have the Altura as well.  They are definitely not as comfortable as my Corsa 2.0 bibs, so I use the Altura for shorter rides and the Corsa for long days.  If the Altura fits well, perhaps give the Corsa a go?

Hi guys, any opinion on Velotex bibs

I found then long lasting and comfortable, however, whenever I came to purchasing more, stock was an issue.

Good quality, BUT you want a better bib for rides in excess of 4 hours. I have been riding Velotex(mostly branded and/or sponsored kit) for 20 years and they are well made(IMO). My brand of choice is Anatomic and lately Ciovita.

I have tried Panda, Indola and First Ascent - not impressed given the price tag on these. If you are not on a tight budget, like me, look at Assoss, Giordana, Santini etc. I have seen complaints rise of late over Assoss' quality, but cannot vouch for this.

My last pair of Assos lasted a year before the leg grippers started coming apart. Local agents refused to honour the 2 year warranty and just offered me a 15% discount on a new pair. Same thing happened to my wife’s bibs. Leg gripper started coming apart. Assos locally can go f$&k themselves. Their bibs are comfy but with the price of some Chinese brands at nearly a 5th of a pair of Assos at a similar level of performance it just doesn’t make sense paying the premium for a white logo.

Not what you asked, but some years back i have done multiple-day races in Assos, and i NOW cannot speak highly-enough of Ciovita; a great price-point, and supremely comfortable - YMMV.

Would love to get your feedback on the Rapid Sports bibs ....

MUCH lower price point - direct from the manufacturer ... no middlemen mark-ups .... very happy with mine

Bib shorts, like saddles, are a contact point. Contact points are very personal choices because everyone is different down there.
some people need a thicker pad, others don’t for rides of similar duration. Why? Different amounts of meat on the seat.

Add to this the reality of "saddle fit"

Like any other muscle, if you do regular 40km rides, the first couple of 60km+ rides are going to test your saddle fitness ...
