  2. Are you able to take a pic of what you're talking about? I've replaced quite a few items on mine, I might have some spares lying around.
  3. I know it seems like I'm a Lyne shill recently but their products haven't disappointed me yet. https://www.on-lynecomponents.com/products/pulse-carbon-wheelset-29
  4. If you're including Rapide, then Lyne deserves a mention as well. https://www.lynecomponents.com/
  5. Cradle Moon lodge is open sunrise to sunset. If the ticket office is closed, you can always pay when you've done your ride. I often buy 2 or 3 passes at once and then just use them to exit if there is a queue on weekends etc.
  6. If he's specifically referring to the current generation ST, it's a 1.6 Turbo engine. If he's referring to the previous generation ST, it's a 2l naturally aspirated engine. He's fine in terms of laws. Rack N Road have specials going: @ridohg https://www.towbarsrus.co.za/towbar-2-bike-hang-on-rack-combo-deal-save-r1000/
  7. The Apple Watch has crash detection. I think since the series 4.
  8. Hey, not at all. I meant in terms of online stores where you'd buy the item new. So Cyclelab, EasyBike, EvoBikes etc. Most of them just give you the generic marketing image and description and you'd assume you were getting that exact item. I was just wondering since the image and description is generic, is it really important? Or does it help to at least "see" what you're buying.
  9. Hey everyone, I was browsing items on my wishlist and I was thinking does everyone else prefer to see what the product actually looks like before buying? I spend a lot of time researching on YouTube and BikeRadar etc before I actually make a purchase locally, so I do have a rough idea of what the actual items look like before I purchase. Even though most of the images are generic stock images from the manufacturers, I do feel better seeing an image as opposed to not. Does anyone else feel the same, or do you not care what it looks like as long as there is stock and you can order it immediately?
  10. If you can stretch a little bit, you can get a brand new Rockhopper. If you're buying two, you might be able to get close to your budget. https://www.specialized.com/za/en/rockhopper-29/p/184115?color=291598-184115
  11. The Pyga had a bit of a glow up from the day I got it. A few deals on Black Friday, a few headaches over stock issues, and a number of services later...

  13. Upgrade your groupset and get high engagement hubs for your rims.
  14. I have both the Ciovita and the Magneeto jackets. No real big differences between them. The Ciovita one has more magnets on the connecting section, whereas the Magneeto has zippers, so not as easy to remove on the fly.
  15. I would also assume that the XC oriented bikes of your friends have different groupsets too? Perhaps that's also the difference going uphill.
  16. Hey, that's my hood. Happy to join you for a ride on the spruit and include you in rides on the weekends - mostly cradle moon lodge, northerns, red barn etc. Send me a message and let's exchange details if you're keen.
  17. She broke her arm a few weeks ago AFAIK. So she's probably on the bench.
  18. Hi all. I need to find stock of 6 bolt brake rotors. I recently bought a wheelset and unfortunately, I forgot to enquire about the rotors fitting. I am currently running the Shimano XT 160 & 180 rotors. I can't find stock of the 180. Can someone suggest an alternative to the Shimanos?
  19. Hey Cois, not sure if it will help or if you've tried it already, but when my partner was pregnant and suffered nausea, we found that peppermint / spearmint oil (you can buy at dischem) in one of those essential oil burners mixed with some water really helped. Not saying it's the same situation, but it's worth a shot if you've tried everything else.
  20. They have some genuinely weird things under clearance. But ended up getting 2 frying pans for almost 70% off a while back. It pays off to look at it now and again.
  21. Ciovita gear on one day only https://www.onedayonly.co.za/ Also a few weird sizes in their clearance section https://www.onedayonly.co.za/clearance-sale
  22. If you want to finance a bicycle (or anything for that matter), it's the same as taking out a loan. My advice would be to apply for the finance, see what rate they give you and over how much. Then apply for a loan or a credit card or an overdraft and see which one of them has the lowest cost of borrowing the money.
  23. Dayle said he would be able to help next week. Hallelujah.
  24. Yeah I called them first. They said around April the last time. I'll try again.
  25. Hey everyone. I am currently in the process of upgrading the OneTen with some new bits and bobs. I've purchased the Shimano XT 1x12 groupset, and the current wheels are unable to accomodate the new microspline standard. I am also a bit unsure of which wheels can accomodate this. It's my understanding that non boost is the older tech, so it's getting harder to find wheels to fit my specific requirement. Are any OneTen owners currently running a 1x12 Shimano setup? Are you able to share the wheelset you're running? Or can anyone recommend a wheelset that would fit my groupset?
