I know of a couple guys wanting to ride 7hrs. They are in the Fish Hoek area....... will be their first so not too sure about how ambitious their time is.

Just get a good quality tyre to go on the wheels and you're good to go. I use Schwalbe Ultremo ZX's as they go up to 10bar and are therefore as hard as tubbies.

Yip, unfortunately this is a mind set rather than lack of facilities. This could lead to the trails being closed because of a few inconsiderate 'boxes'...

I have always marveled at their fearless descents of the trails - guess it's all down to familiarity of the run and the conditions on the day. One day I'll give it a go

10 minutes! Damn you pump slow! I have changed a tube in a race - from stop to back on the road in 4 minutes....... I have had lots of practice in training rides though. I don't use a bomb. My pump is one of those stick BBB pumps that clip onto a bracket on the seat tube.

I have an edge 800 and I love it. Can be used as a normal GPS if you purchase the maps to load. Gives me loads of data (more than what I actually use) - can upload to GTC Garmin connect, Endomondo, maymyride (the ones I have used before). R4200 odd at www.easygis.co.za for the performance bundle - everything you need for the bike. I bought a silicon cover for it for a little bit extra - think they have it for R110 or somewhere close to that. I have not used the Bryton, so can't give any feedback there. Google 'dcrainmaker' and see if he has done a comparison.
