  1. I can't see the sticker because it's covered in mud, glorious mud
  2. OK, firstly, I admit it, I'm lazy. Too lazy to look for the manual. I have a 2008 (the skinny) Rock Shock SID World cup fork. I weigh between 72 (racing) and 75 (fat)kg. How hard should I pump the shock? While I'm at it how hard should I pump my Fox RP23?
  3. I ride in the afternoons along the Spruit. I only ride the top part (Milpark to Republic) and do hill repeats under the pylons. PM me and I'll send you my mobile number.
  4. Anthem 0. I can get him a good deal when he's ready to buy.
  5. It's ugly, you better give it to me. You know, it's the opposites attract type of thing .
  6. Yeah and then you have to swap bottles, I knowing my luck (and bike skills) I'll see my @ss!
  7. Can anyone post pics. I heard they lost their bottles most days? I want to do this too.
  8. Sorry guys, sold to Saffa_G. The action cam works great and if you like that type of thing, go for it.
  9. I'll machine the sample parts you need, if you make the drawings / solid models.

    new lights

At USD 340-00, I'd rather crash into trees!
  11. We rode Sabie on Larsen TT's and they worked great.
  12. I warped my disc rotor on day2. Replaced it and had no further problems. I was using Avid Juicy 7's. mrmed2008-04-11 00:56:55

    MTB Wheels

I know all about the Mavic "hub" issue. Cost us 15 minutes a day, 4 days in a row at the Epic.

    MTB Wheels

I need opinions on MTB wheels. I'm currently running Mavic SL's. I have a chance to get XTR wheels, but have heard they have problems. What are the best wheels to buy. I weigh 75kgs.
  15. Is it not the DHL Mark Johnstone?
  16. We're finally back in Jo'burg after the Epic. What a fantastic experience. I really enjoyed the race after day 1 (We had a huge technical problem that cost us around an hour). I thought the course was tough, but do-able (we probably only walked around 3km in 950km). The weather couldn't have been kinder, although the wind made things difficult at times. The lessons I learned. 1. You need to have guys to wash and fix your bikes, especially my partner who tends to "buy land" on downhills. TitusTi's mechanics rock and I would highly recommend them to anyone doing Epic in 2009. This also saves valuable sleeping time in the afternoon. 2. You need two different types of shorts. I had 4 pairs of Adidias and one pair of Assos and the days when I could swop from one type to the other were a pleasure, but after wearing the same style of shorts for three days in a row, my bum started to hurt and rub. 3. If you want to do well you need to practise bunch riding on your mountain bike, and you need to be able to "pull" and acclerate hard. Do "roadie" rides on your MTB at 30km/hr+ av. Many days we had strong guys pulling us at 50km/hr and we couldn't hold on. What you gain on the steep climbs you loose on the dirt roads in buckets! Overall, I'm really pleased with our performance and hope I can get an entry for 2010 and give top 100 a go.
  17. Eish! Sorry to hear. Hope your arm heals quickly.
  18. No big miles for me! I did my last big ride on Saturday. Will do some 1.5 hour LT sessions when the weather clears.
  19. 1. Sabie Exp. 2. Groot Marico 3. Sani2C 4. Amashova 5. 94.7 MTB 6. 94.7 Road 8. Argus 9. Duzi Mfula (only 'cause I was sick) 10. I hope EPIC moves to #1
  20. Yes, this was my first year / 15 months of cycling and with 10 - 20 hrs / week training I broke 3 hours with no problem. Go to a professional and get a program and you'll do it. Remember, anything is possible.
  21. Yes, everyone (except me and my partner) at Sani2C took them. If they were legal, we could take them too, and be able to keep up. That's my story and i'm sticking to it.

    Cytopower

I don't think 1Kcal = 1000 cal. 1kCal = 4.2 kJ. If I'm not mistaken Cytopower has two products. One for loading and one for racing, and one does require 4 scoops vs 2, but the price difference is double. Just check which one you bought? mrmed2008-03-13 00:20:52
  23. Where do I set the blow off threshold?
  24. I've got a Fox 32 F100 RLC shock (about 6 months old) that has been to the local bike shop and to Fox, three times, because it doesn't lock out. When it was new it had about 5mm (or less) travel when it was locked out, but now it has about 50 - 70mm of travel when I lock it out and stand and pedal on an uphill. The local (jhb) guy has told my LBS this is normal (it was also leaking oil), I don't think it is. Today I spoke to a the rep? from Omnico and actually he was quite rude (and to be honest I was rude right back) but told me to leave my bike a the LBS and he'll have 'another look' . The question is how much should my fork 'bob' when I push down on it when it is in a locked position?
