  1. I wonder how the pep talk went this morning: "lets go out and show them who is boss!" 10 min later: "Ok, lets go out again, and try something else"
  2. Compared to some of the top order, Nortje looks like the next Kallis
  3. How did grinding it out yesterday turn into tonking from the first over this morning? ????‍♂️ Did the brains trust instruct them up the run rate?
  4. Re Faf: class is permanent, form is temporary. He is the second best batsmen we have, after QdK. (His stats of 29 x 50s 9 x 100s and average is actually better then QdK) They would be dof to even think about dropping him.
  5. Bay2bay run event in Camps bay also cancelled. Right call imo, event does not have road closure, racing bunches usually all over the road in the wind. And there are always those "I can ride my deep sections in a crosswind just like a pro" guys. (Despite the Chris Froome crash)
  6. It wil be Bavima - I think they want him to do a Kolisi
  7. How would one remove a carbon plate from a running shoe sole? Asking for a friend, just in case.... ????
  8. How many active days are needed for a win?
  9. As per report accepted by the Brittish parliment, if I remember correctly.
  10. And despite their clean past they still flew in a jiffy bag full of dope for Wiggins. Clean in the past, but dirty now?

    Rapha Festive 500

I left it a bit late, but managed to finish it on the 30th. I dedicated the 31st to recovery, and my favourite recovery drink (= a bit of red wine....)
  12. Sir Lowry's was scary with the wind. Not recommended on windy days ????
  13. 4 Passes to finish my rides for the year: Sir Lowry's, Viljoen's, Franschoek and Hellshoogte.
  14. ^ Thanks! I went with progressively thicker socks as the festive 500 kms added up.

  16. Is anything needed for hiking and running?
  17. I had an Altain, it was a lekker bike. It was intended to be a budget model - bought that frame in 2004 new for R2700 from AVH's shop.
  18. There are some good 2nd hand wheels in the classifieds in the 10-15k range, like Zipps or Borats. Or buy directly from China, but consider shipping via Aramex or couriers other than SAPO. Nextie rims + hubs of your choise + Sapim spokes sounds like a winner.
  19. Equipment question: Ive decided to expand to a 3 shoe arsenal, after a few years of Nike Pegasus. I just bought some racing flats for short, fast runs. (Not that common, I had to search a while to get my size) For longer training I think the Pegasus is still good as they fit me perfectly, but I will consider a softer ride from other brands. I need some marathon race day shoes, someting light and stil responsive. I was thinking about Pegasus Turbo 2, but these seem a bit rare and costly too. Zoom Fly 3 are cheaper, but not as responsive without the ZoomX foam. Suggestions are welcome????
  20. Devon valley rd: from Paarl on the R44, right in Bottelary rd, left before the Devonvale golf course, left on Devon Valley rd. Follow to Adam Tas rd.
  21. That is 100% correct. The areas will differ and the dynamic response will differ. The difference can be calculated or measured (and I shall do so if my insurer wants to a repair on one of my bikes). Whether you can feel it, is subjective.
  22. @ Capricorn: I can attemt an answer to the second one: The test manufacturers do are not all the same - there are few standard tests. Some can be done, but others will consume frame life. There cerainly are tests that can be done to inspect the repair, like flash thermography. Imo the insurance should have it done in the case of a repair.
  23. ???? you may have a point. Perhaps it should rather be "ultra expensive"
