  1. The woke movement have screwed up everything. You can never know for sure which bush is the right one 🤷‍♂️
  2. Purchased my last 2 sets from CWC.
  3. As much as I dislike the Pog, he is a sight to behold when he pulls ITT tricks like a man possessed. I recall the 2020(I think) penultimate stage when he smashed Roglic in the ITT to take yellow. He is a freak .............. It's like his recovery rate is unmatched by anybody. He just gets faster and stronger as the tour goes on.
  4. I guess he was going faster than the rest 🤷‍♂️

    Mark Cavendish

    At 39 ....................................... 😳 There's hope for 80% of us after all 👴
  6. Gotto love the Italian announcers at the TdF 😝 Tadei Pogacharra ....................................................
  7. I fully support @ChrisF on this one. Without any intention to hijack this thread, I must add my rant over many sellers not removing their stuff once sold. They simply ignore you when you show interest to buy. Common decency I call it, or rather a serious lack thereof.
  8. They unfortunately fired the spraypainter as well for systematic doping. He was was found high on thinners fumes when WADA arrived 😵‍💫
  9. I am no expert, but the university of life have taught me a few valuable lessons. You could go for the Avalanche Reflex now at 10k a piece. If you sell it in 12 months, you might just get 5k for it. You buy a reputable brand secondhand for 10k now, and you would probably still get 7k for it in 12 months time. Then there is the issue of component/groupset quality on the Avalanche. The 1x12 group on this bike would be absolute bottom spec. The problem you face with bottom spec'ced components is the matter of maintenance of such components. Quite often these "low cost" components are disposable - meaning that should it break, you toss it and replace with new components. Your mid-range components on a 2nd hand bike are most probable "repairable" - meaning you could fix or upgrade them when they give the ghost. They will also give you better longevity than the cheaper ones. I still see 29'ers sold brand new with 3x7 or 3x8 groups. The market is driven by profit margins, point. There a very knowledgeable hubbers on this topic, but this is my 2 cents' worth.
  10. Tourists wear sandals with white socks, and talk funny ....................... AND they never tour alone. We should be raving about how beautiful Cape Town mornings are this time of year - not this type of shite. Where is this world heading 😵
  11. OR .... a Hell's Kitchen episode went south for him 🫢
  12. If you suspect a pinched nerve, your spinal column becomes the target area. I would suggest a neuro surgeon. I suffered from the effects of a rearend whiplash injury for 20 years before my neck decided that's it. In that period I consulted everybody but the local township's chief sangoma. Ended up having an ACDF(disc replacement) in my neck after the disc broke in two. Did a Transbaviaans 5 months post op and 6 years later I still have no pain as before the procedure. I do not for one moment suggest you have a similar problem, but do not take shortcuts with your spinal column. SA is blessed with some of the world's top neuro surgeons. @Jewbacca might be right. I agree that you should see a surgeon in the field of orthopedics or neurology. Strongs 🤞
  13. What a legend these Choppers still remain to this day 🏆 I had one in the mid/late 70's. As @BuffsVintageBikes wrote, wheelies, ramps & spectacular wipe-outs were all in a day's fun. I recall my chopper introducing me to torture by Friars Balsam. I would come home with grit embedded under the skin on my elbows or knees. Ma would "debone" me like the poor chicken getting the treatment to make pie for Sunday lunch. Once every chunk of gravel had been removed, wounds cleaned etc, the 🤬 Friars Balsam would appear to engrave the event in my memory banks for the remainder of my days on earth. I am convinced the neighbors regularly contemplated calling the cops to come check out my house for suspected child abuse. Many, many, m-a-n-y moons later this topic brings back vivid memories. Those were the days when we would still get our rear ends lit up by dad for getting up to all kinds of 💩 Old's cool 🤙
  14. I guess it's like being rearended by another car at a traffic intersection, and your insurance turn down your claim because your tyres are down to the tread indicators. Had a Spez Epic Comp with a paint crack on the rear triangle. Took it in and Spez "inspected" the frame. Bike is 4 yrs and 11 mths old. Verdict was that it is a paint crack. Two months later the triangle snaps on the very paint crack. Sorry sir, no warrantee claim. Your bike is 5 yrs and 2 mths old. Lifetime cover is only 5 years. Shite happens
  15. Just got me hands onto the following snippet. Lycra (spandex) comes in two forms as far as I know: polyester-lycra and nylon-lycra. Polyester based lycra will withstand harsh conditions whereas nylon based lycra will not.
  16. You don't perhaps add tenderizer to your race fuel mix 🤷‍♂️
  17. If I was a Urologist, I'd sue you for hinting that I might suffer from "tunnel vision" .......................... I mean, WTF bro, that's how we get to the "core issue" in this profession 👈
  18. The Chinese will fake "fake" without the world noticing. The reality is that you and I will never stop them. "Made in the USA" have not existed for the past 30 years. EVERYBODY commissions China to fabricate frames(Giant, TREK, Pinarello, etc, etc) and components(Shimano etc.). When requested to build 10,000 branded frames for the legit market, the chinamen manufacture 40,000 frames and sell the surplus 30,000 off at a fraction of the price the legit dealers do. This is how they operate. A legal battle against China will cost you a wee bit more than a cheap chain. If poor quality is your concern, stop buying branded stuff on WISH, TEMU, SHEIN or WhaWhenWong.com Just my opinion 🤷‍♂️
  19. Your wife will luv u for it 😍
  20. I agree with @RobertWhitehead. Despiye being a very capable XC racer, the Spez frames are heavy. Upgrade as he mentioned, yet the frame will still be heavy. i might be inclined to swing the entire bike and get something lighter. Once you have a lighter platform, upgrade as your budget allows, but start with wheels. I went down the exact same path - also had an Epic Comp. No matter the amount of cash you throw at it, you cannot get the weight below 12-13kg. Spez frames are generally heavy. It's like changing the bridle on a lame horse to make it run faster. Still a cool ride though
  21. I had a shop in Brackenfell fabricate a reduction sleeve that fits inside the 15mm ID DtSwiss axle. Works like the proverbial bomb. New Engineering, try them. This is basically what @Jewbacca did. There's zero risk to this mod. End caps are increasingly difficult to source.
  22. I have personal experience with carbon repairs by CBR. They are top notch. I have seen seat stays broken through completely, were repaired by CBR, and still held up 4 years post repair(not my bike). Do not write carbon repairs off before checking with James Perry. I would ride a repaired carbon frame before doing so a repaired alu frame. Best of luck
  23. As far as I know the rear triangles are the same size in order to provide similar rear travel across various frames sizes. The main traingle is the variable that determine frame size. Having broken rear triangles in the past and talking spec's with experts, I learnt this from some clever guys. Cheers
  24. You'll be back for sure ......... if only to get back at that bastard 😂 Well done mate 👏
  25. It was'nt nik-naks, but marshmallows 🤣 The corrugations must have got the better of you.
