  1. Yes thanks I am ok. Bit shaken yesterday but I managed to stirr it out last night. Now the insurance starts. They have been very good so far so fingers crossed. The damage doesn't seem too bad but I hear they write cars off for minor tihngs these days! Only had the thing 4 months
  2. +1 I only go there and pay and collect. Still waiting to collect my new car at year end as I just wrote my car off yesterday. I wonder how they will put that one in the post??!!
  3. Will get back to you on the 14th of March. Hope that helps.
  4. Not the bottom bracket. I had it on a 2010 Epic and it really did suck. The first one I got was not even true. I got it from CWC and it was wonky. He got me a new one and I was still not impressed at all. I then changed to XTR and it made a big difference. Maybe they have sorted it out by now but I doubt it. It seems to be very soft. On my 29er I have a Truvative 3X10 Carbon crank and it is sweet. No flex just takes the job in its stride. The carbon does scratch easily though. Let us know what you go for and what you think of it.
  5. Faulty Towers I mean Faulty tyres?!
  6. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!
  7. http://www.sport24.co.za/Cricket/CricketWorldCup2011/CWC-Wholl-be-our-new-Jonty-20110209 Sorry CWC thought it was funny..
  8. I had an Aerozine crank and it was not great. Very flexy and bad power tansferance. Just my 2c.
  9. Yes I think it was a 29'r.
  10. Go them from Bridge Cycles in Cape Town. I presume any Specialize dealer should have them! As far as I know they get them from le Peleton which is the SA agent. They were a good price too. Can't remeber exactly but I remember when I got them that they were pretty reasonable.
  11. Got Specialized Controll's on my steed and they are awesome. I had them on my 26'r and now on the big hoops. Great tyres will never change.
  12. I did the Porcupine Race this weekend in Franschoek and as we passed the first concrete block on the way out there was a rather serious ditch. I know this cause there was a guy with his bike there. He was ok but the bike was not. It snapped by the tube that holds the fork. It was a carbon bike, a brand that I have never seen before. Did anyone else see him? He was laughing so I think he was fine but the bike is a throw away. No real question here was just an observation. If somone knows him I hope his pride was no damaged in the fall and the bike will be replaced.
  13. Longer stem?!
  14. Marc is a very friendly helpful guy. He has helped me on many occasions. They also stock my favourite "Continental" bottles. Good shop greet service.
  15. Once again good post. Thanks for the insight. I have supported you guys substantially over the last year and probably saved a few bucks to buy you a beer at the next race I see you at. Your prices are good. Just keep up the good after sales service and let all the local agents close down. Why not. You have had your day in court and you won. Everyone in this world looks for the best deal with the current situation we are in and 9 times out 10 that will be your shop.
  16. Epic Bicycle shop and Bulls for supplying me with such an awesome frame. Good thread I like the posotiveness of it
  17. "bombs were flying everywhere" what the hell!! Well done for getting out alive.
  18. Eggbeaters 4Ti best pedals in the world.
  19. On my 29er I have 160mm front and back. I weigh 85kgs and the thing stops on a dime. That is Hope Tech 2 brakes. I use Specialized Controll tyres and they are super good. Not any issues. I have the exact same wheels as you from the exact same place. Red hubs. They are flippin cool. Bling bling. Not sure if this is common standard but at the Epic last year I used double the amount of Stans for the race as I thought better to be safe than sorry. I am no weight weenie so the extra 20mls wasn't an issue for me. Was lucky and didn't have any tyre issues.
  20. Get a Bulls. I have one
  21. Try a panel beaters.
  22. looks like you not happy with the crack you got. Not sure if there are agents here and pretty sure you won't find them on google. Pretty addictive stuff by the sound of all the posts above. I hope you manage to sort it out.
  23. Eggbeaters?
  24. Good point you have here. Do they charge more $$ for a guy with say a Specialized S-Works than a guy with an old Peugeot? This would be great input fromt he bike shops here. I feel though that they are not going to be to forth coming with this kind of knowledge. Be interesting to see how this post goes.
  25. All girls should shave their legs.
