  1. what time we meeting boys and girls? still at fratellis parking lot?
  2. I picked up a new frame and some new tows to go with my new ride, ok a second hand new frame but new to me. very happy
  3. as far as i am aware its a retention device to stop the chain dropping off on the inner side of the blades. dont know of the effectiveness or what sort of set-up its intended for though, i would suspect its for a 3x9/10 set-up where the granny has been removed to create a 2x9/10 without an actual 2x9/10 shifter. as i say thats a complete guess.
  4. sorry meant to add to check first, i have had experience in the past that doesn't allow for the bushings to be used but as patches says he has had luck so you may be lucky.
  5. Sorry the short answer is no it won't fit. The Fox and rs have different bushing diameter's. Your lbs should be and to order tmr correct ones for you if they don't have in sock.
  6. i am on a classic saver, hit a tree square in the hip about 6 or so months ago at 50 odd km and hour, was completely trashed, went to sandton mediclinnic and was seen in the casualty, everything came out of my MSA till there was nothing left and then the bills started coming, total for the visit was R7300 and some change. MSA covered about half of that. i had to pay the rest.
  7. spin the wheel and make a note of where the bend in the rotor is i mark with a whiteboard marker, then use a disc straightening tool if you have one( am guessing from the post you dont) or a shifting spanner to bend in the opposite direction. before going that route though try using your hands and thumbs to push where the bend is( it takes surprisingly little force to bend the rotor so be careful) its unlikely you will get it perfect but you should be able to get it straight enough not to hear the rubbing anymore.
  8. an alternative is if you have an IS to Post calliper mount you could put a washer between the calliper spacer and the frame, if its post mount you will need to move the disc as you are trying to do. just a thought as its guaranteed to be easier to go to builders and use a washer than try move the disc.
  9. i was about to say, WHY?
  10. Bwhahahahaha talk about "loving" your sport
  11. like that idea, perhaps wident o format to include things like headset replacement with home made tools, oh and of coarse LAGER as well
  12. lol dont forget the gimp chains i lent you
  13. hey hey hey, what about me i want to throw advice / useless information from the sidelines as well, chukky can attest to the fact i am very good at it, and i like breakfast beer as well ill bring the gopro
  14. i vote no to the new cup of stans/ sealant, this is supposed to be a trail side fix, unless you ride with an extra bottle of sealant or happen to burp in front of a bike shop/ sportsmans etc you need to use whats in the tire at the time. just my 2c though, am game to come watch, Sean send me an invite ill be there.
  15. thanks you for the pic, was wondering what the hell you meant, couldn't for the life of me figure it out from the description. not going to add much value to this thread over what the guys have already said but for me if i loose all pressure, i tube it and ride home, bombs make too much of a mess with the sealant and honestly if the incident (whatever that may have been ) has caused a complete loss of pressure i am sure the fix is going to burp again so rather not walk. i always carry a spare tube and at least 3 bombs, always seem to be giving them away and not using them myself though .
  16. correction they take 3 pics, front, back and top, the cameras are powerful enough to read the details from your licence disc as well so even covered plates are useless with the licence disc in the window. have a mate who setup the storage for the camers, each pic is roughly 70 odd Mb, super fine quality and worth a hell of a lot of money. someone should let the cANCer members and Nigerians know that, they will steal all the cameras and the problem will go away
  17. another prime example of SANRAL raping consumers and more underhanded thievery. should never have gotten an E-tag there mate. now they have you, just like a tv licence, even when you are dead they will want payment!!
  18. lol i did the same with some surgical tubing and a syringe plastic top to force some tubeless sealant into my road bike tubes that don't have removable cores
  19. hey guys was browsing pinkbike and came across this vid. have done many tubeless fittings both ghetto and actual tubeless rim and tire set-ups and always seem to mess some sealant. this vid makes a hell of a lot of sense and will definitely try on my next set. a lot of the stuff i already do but its the added small things that make sense to me. i know before anyone starts throwing thier toys that it wont necessarily work on every setup or set of circumstances but i think it is awesome information to have. http://www.pinkbike.com/video/331401/
  20. lol the weight weenies would object cause its going to "slow them down"
  21. congrats, coming down must have been awesome
  22. ed-zackery
  23. thats a *** attitude to have mate, thats like saying i dont want to go to pretoria cause i heard stuff got stolen. crime happens, golden rule be aware, proactive and as far as possible dont take chances. am willing to bet if he had locked the bike to the car they would have taken it anyway as the saying goes if they want it they are going to take it. locks etc are only going to slow them down not stop them if they really want soemthing.
  24. you can solve that with 2 cable ties. put one round the bottom of the head tube( as high up as possible) and one on the cable looping under the one on the head tube and the cable, pull tight as hell and the problem goes away. unfortunately the damage done already will have to stay.
  25. hmm i am a gopro fan but that VIRB looks awesome, priced to compete with the 3+ from what i can find, i think i would give it a go. only issue i can see is it being difficult to sell if you want due to it not being a gopro, but i guess thats the same with almost every camera out there that isnt a gopro.
